    Looking CAP 2 7 9 1970 June 8

I am looking for info. on Sgt. John T Thornton. He was in country Mar 1970 KIA June 1970. CAP 2-7-9 in Quang Nam

His sister Shelly has asked if we could find some one that served with him

The info. on the wall tell us that he was CAG but then Sgt Ron (Gator) Gometz said he was CAP

    There were 3 KIA's & 3 WIA's from the BT - I don't have the 3 WIA's names:
    > Sgt John T Thornton - 0311 - HQ
    > Sgt Mahlon Kelley - 0351 - CAP (Civilian Action Patrol) 2-7-9. Orlando, FL
    > Cpl Ansel Morse - 0341/mortars - CAP 2-7-9. Charlotte, NC

    Vma-211

My father was in the Marines from '55 to '58. He was with VMA-211 and he's interested in tracking down some of those guys. (If there's any still around) I figured this site may be a good place to start. Can anyone offer any pointers or steer me in the right direction?

you could look up a site called (Marines. *********************) as long as your father has some information from boot camp or duty stations he has a chance to find some buddies, good luck Cpl. M Hamann Semper FI/ sgt108rm@yahoo.com
