    All:

This is the 'looking' thread. Lets keep our other opinions to ourselves, or take it elsewhere, lest we clutter up the AO.

If there are issues at work here I"m unaware of, then a PM is the best way.

    Carry on...

Ahoy Hotel Company ! Any chance you might have participated in Operation Kangaroo I ? I was a (Cpl.) Machine Gunner with Fox Company 2nd Blt. 3rd Mar. 1st Marine Brigade, FMF, out of Kaneohe Hawaii 1974, attached to the 1st Royal Austrailan Reg. as the aggressor force for Marines from Okinawa. The Aussies provided us with twenty Armored Personnal Carriers (APC's) with tank turrets for fast engress / egress. And even if you were not, It's still apleasure to hear from you. Looking for contact information on General Pete Pace

I am looking to see if I can get any contact information On General Pete Pace. Landing Vehicle Trac - Engineering

The LVT E-1 was an Amtrac Engineering vehicle. It was designed to land on the beach, shoot out a 350 foot 1,750 pound line charge of C4 with a sidewinder rocket, blow up a mine field, and then we lowered our vehicle blade down and plowed up any remaining mines that the line charge didn’t explode.

    See attached Pictures...

I remember the LVT's although we never had need for the E-1's. We still used them at K-Bay before they came out with the newer Aluminum ones that would float without the engine running. I also remember being the 3rd. man out when it sank in 50 feet of water because the Track-Rat couldn't get it restarted. I was Very happy when we changed from Amtracks to CH-46 Choppers. I also have memories of an Ontos and how P.O.'d my buddy would get when he (being the lowest ranking man) had to climb outside to reload all six barrels.... What Armored Vehicle ? I was also lucky enough to be one of the Last Marines to carry a Flame Thrower at Pendleton before it was phased out and replaced with the Multi-Shot 4 tube launcher. As a Squad Leader I carried an M-79 Blooper where as all the Army guy's would laugh at me because they had the M-203..... Aaaahh The good 'Ol day's, gone forever (Some Marines are glad) but I miss them. Semper Fi.
