Iron Horse Casino, Marines to give back to the community

Nov 29 2008, 12:00 AM · NEW

The U.S. Marine Corps and Iron Horse Casino are teaming up to bring holiday cheer to children.

The casino, located at 333 15th Street NE, Auburn, will serve as a Toys for Tots drop-off point from Dec. 1-25.

A motorcycle, Jeep and military vehicle convoy will gather at the casino to collect toys and celebrate with a poker tournament on Dec. 11. A $3,000 cash and prize give-away will be the focal point of the day’s festivities while the Marines collect new, unwrapped toys and gifts to be distributed in time for the holidays to less fortunate children.

Everyone is welcome, but players must be 21 to participate in the gaming activities.

Please bring a new unwrapped toy. Complimentary soda, coffee and donuts will be served courtesy of Sysco Food Service and Pepsi.

The Marines will arrive at noon. Tournament sign-ups begin at noon.

For more information on the toy drive or tournament, please contact Lori Jerome at 253-833-7100, extension 112.

The event is being made possible by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, KGRG Radio, Downtown Harley-Davidson, Pepsi and Sysco Foods.
