Depart 081208 to San Diego
Yea, with a little over a week before i go to bootcamp Im anxious to go!! Im Working on my breathing for running and everything else is good. I also want to work on my knowledge for bootcamp. Anything anyone would like to share with me that could potentially help in any way, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the opportunity to all Marines and Soon-to-Be Marines!

I leave the same day for Parris Island, best of luck to you. I also would like to thank everyone around here for the information I've collected over the past 6 months or so that I've been lurking around...it's been very useful.

Just One last question!! How do the Marines help you control your breathing during bootcamp?? For my IST im just going to go all out on the running part and hope its good enough!! Any other tips on breathing would greatly be appreciated! Thanks in Advanced.

At first you will start out doing formation runs at PT in which you will or SHOULD be screaming at the top of your lungs, which brings you into a breathing rythym, after that its all up to you to control it.
I just graduated and yes its all mind over matter. Your Drill Instructors ask for 3 things, Speed, Volume, and Intensity. Give them those 3 things and your good to go. Also even if you cant do something they ask of you i.e. its technically impossible, don't cheese-dick it. Try your hardest and even if you fail at the task, you will know you did your best. Half-assers were a problem in our platoon, don't be the **** bag!
