I followed you 11 months later. I went through 2nd BN in Plt 2011. I was billeted in the old wooden barracks on Panama Street. Fortunately for me, I was finished ITR in time to take some leave for the holidays. Looks like I'll follow you into Parris Island Marines. Maybe 11 months later also.

I went to MCRD San Diego, Calif. for my boot camp training. I left from Nashville,Tenn. and i'm from Huntsville,Al. Now here's what I don't understand, everybody east of the Mississippi went to P.I. Nashville,&
Huntsville, both are east of the Mississippi. They sent me to California.
Did that happen to any of you Marines ?

I went to PI of course. The only boot camp for women. Maybe they had more openings at MCRD San Diego, just a thought.

Third Herd, oh, you were the ones out by the rifle range that got to live in brick barracks, were issued sunglasses, and were the east coast branch of the "Hollywood" Marines... Our DI's told us all about you plus my older brother was in Third Herd, I think he graduated 11/61. We got to experience the "good life" while at the rifle range and then back to the real boot camp world. 1st is called first for a reason, it is the best. If our DI's told us that then you know it is gospel... Have a great day and Semper Fi brother.
