    Facial hair while in DEP

Are their any rules regarding beards and whatnot while one is in DEP? All the seniors on my football team are growing beards and I was just wondering if there was any trouble I could get into besides being called nasty by the recruiters?

Nope, I had long hair and a beard while I was in DEP.

A month before I shipped I shaved and cut all my hair off. Starting shaving everyday to make sure I didn't screw it up once I got to boot.

You have every right any civilian has all the way up until you start getting paid by the government/ sign your final contract.

With that being said, don't do anything permanent such as a tattoo, no breaking laws or bones either.

Beards in high school, i'm seeing sparse sprouts of fescue trying hard to grab hold on barren soil. Them catholic priests and nuns would have gathered us up with rulers and clippers just before filing the suspension paperwork.

Grow that beard! The girly's will think your sooo mature hehehe

You know when a beard is finally a beard???

Thank you for your answers, and just out of curiosity, Slinger Dun, this is what I grew last winter, does it qualify as a beard?

I went to MEPS today and all of the Marines in the Liaison office were giving these two applicants a hard time because they hadn't shaved in a little while and had beards. They even made them shave them off right there in the MEPS!

My recruiter had me shave mine yesterday before heading out.

So I guess it really depends on how uptight the Marines at MEPS are. I would just ask my recruiter if I were you.

Mine told me to trim before MEPS, and then to keep my ***hole clean.

I'm not big on facial hair, it looks nasty on me, but just out of curiosity, what exactly is the Marine Corps policy on facial hair?

Everyone at the recruiting office gives me **** about my beard, but I still have 4 months and the ladies love it.

Cpl. Blaylock said something and asked a question and you "laugh out loud" at it. I don't know what happened in the past, but this isn't the right way to come back. I don't like you or your attitude with that one post. Straighten it the F** up.
