What is this Book?

Either my search feature isn't working or I can't figure out how to do it so I haven't searched for this but if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.

I've seen talk of a book that all Marines read. I can't remember who wrote it or what it was called but if I remember correctly it was written long ago. I remember seeing comments about how things are different today but the same principles apply. I think it was written by a former Marine Commandant. I would like to get this book for my poolie son but I can't remember where I read about it.

I do not know what book you are talking about. All Marine Recruits are issued a book in bootcamp, its called our Little Green Monster. But they can be purchased before hand and your recruit can read it if he/she wants.
