just wondering if I need to take the DLAB for the 0231 intelligence specialist mos?

In Boot you will be given the opportunity to take the DLAB... I didnt and im a 0231 it isnt requred but if you know a second language.... Take the test because if you pass you get more pay a month and opens a few more door for your carrear. But to answer your question NO it is not mandatory.

The DLPT is offered in boot camp. Often takes when a 0231 class is about to graduate they take the DLAB. Those that score high enough are sent to DLI, the Defense Language Institute.

I am a 2674, and work with 0231s here at DLI.

You do not have to take the DLAB to be a 0231, but you might be told to make it at your MOS school.
