KenKat...Not sure this will help, but there were 175s on the south end of the runway at An Hoa. Also, there was a 105 artillary battery just to the west of the 175s. Do you recall the huge tower at the end of the runway? If so, you were at the end of the An Hoa runway. Hope this helps!

I was in country from Sept. 1969 - Sept 1970....
I was with Hotel 2/26 when I first got there...Hai Van Pass, Esso Plant, Hills 881 north and south, then the BIG draw down started and I did not have enough time in country so I was transferred to C 1/7. They were at LZ BALDY where I spent the rest of my time running thru the surrounding area chasin Mr. Charles....0311 all the way!!

Cool. Have you had the opportunity to read the latest issue of VFW Mag about 1/7 in Nam?

Can't say I envy you. Had the bridge to the south of the hill ( I guess it was the south end, been so long ago) been put up by then?

Can anyone tell me what hill they were located on. My memory has faded and so many of the hills I see or read about sound so familiar. Hills 10,37,327,55,25 are all possible but I was a messenger for awhile and made deliveries to many units and now they just all blend together. If anyone served with this unit or has information it would be nice to hear from you.

I arrived in country March 69 to Feb 70. Hill 34, right by hill 327. Drive through Dog Patch from Da Nang to Hill 34, 1st 175SP, 11th Marines. Had Sgt of the Guard one night when gun one had a fire mission and the shell exploded half way down the tub. We might have know each other. I was a corporal then. COs driver, mail runs to battalion HQ, ran patrols weekly when I had Sgt of the Guard. We had a Korean 1LT, a old 1SG and a mean battery gunnery Sgt.
