An El Paso man has pleaded guilty in Las Vegas federal court to stealing money from the bank accounts of 15 Marines who were deployed to Iraq, the U.S. attorney's office in Nevada said Thursday.

Edgar Alejandro Hermosillo, 24, stole more than $39,000 from Marines' accounts using false identification cards with information he stole before he left the Marine Corps in May 2005. Hermosillo -- who pleaded guilty on Wednesday to wire-fraud, identity-theft and conspiracy charges -- faces up to 20 years in federal prison. Sentencing is scheduled for July 7.
