Morning all,
Got another dusting of snow last night. I've lived here for over 12 years now and this is the most snow I can ever remember.
Need to take little man to the Dr I think he has another ear infection. He had tubes put in at 10 months and as soon as they fell out 6 months ago he has had 2 more infections.

Morning all
Another snow day here in the flatlands of West Tennessee. Rather funny since today was a holiday that was changed to a make-up day which then got turned into a snow day...lol
I will need to make me a big pot of coffee just as soon as I post this post.
I hope Lin is doing well the day after (if her plans worked out...the 14th was her wedding anniversary) With her computer down, I haven't heard how she is doing.

good morning, Gyrenes.

Little man is sound asleep, the puppy survived a forced march, I got my PT in and then cooked breakfast.

Thanks to Chumley and JoEllen. The chilifest was great and they turned me on to putting bacon in the oven. 30 minutes at 350 beats watching it for 15 minutes. Takes a whole lot of hassle out of the morning routine.

Everything here is just fine and dandy. Finally got a toy chest for Sammy thanks to Godfadduh Rocky. I'll post pics when I get a chance. Sammy's Shutterfly account has been updated for those who have access to it.

Hope all is well and everyone fares well and lives hearty.

Mornin All, DocG I'm not laughing at nobody. It was my Birthday yesterday. I thought I made that clear in yesterdays post. I was Born in San Diego on Feb 14th 1975. That is the morning I graduated a Marine, and officially earned my EGA. I still have my Boot Camp picture on the wall. Along with my Honorable Discharge Cert.

I come from a family who, back then, was considered poor white trash. (Most of my siblings still are) My Graduation from Boot was and is my biggest achievment in my opinion. It allowed my Dad to have at least one of his kids to brag about. Since then, and because of the Marines and their instilling in me a sense of pride, and intestinal fortitude, I have become the only one of my siblings to go to college and graduate. The only one to own a house purchased on my own with money I actually earned. The only one to hold down a job for more than a few weeks or months. Even though I am the middle child, I was picked to be Personal Representative to my parents estate. I have been asked to give the eulogy at three relatives funerals, and the list is endless. But I owe it all to the Marines. I was headed for the same life the rest of my family still to this day experiences. Homeless due to laziness, outstanding warrants, drug abuse, creditors harassment, and being low class poor.

When I inlisted and left for Boot, the week after I left for MCRDSD the local Sherriff came to my house with a warrant for my arrest for skipping probation. When he learned I was in Marine Boot he told my Mom and Dad that he would get the warrant dismissed because if the Marines couldn't straighten me out, no-one could.

So you see why I consider Feb 14th my birthday.

Semper Fi to everyone here. You all truly are my brothers and sisters.

P.S Sorry for the long winded diatribe, but everytime I am asked why the discrepency I have to explain, and I fear those who haven't earned the title will never truly understand. DocG excluded of course.

Mornin Again All, Now for my normal morning post. Windy outside with sustained winds in the 30s with gusts to 45. Most roads in the area are closed or in bad shape due to drifting and visibility problems. Wife stayed home and took a snow day off. Nothin on the agenda today other than waiting fo the IP techies to get here to fix this slow azz internet problem.

Stay warm and safe everyone, and don't risk driving if your weather is as nasty as mine. SF

mornin all...a little rane this morning...spose ta almost hit 50 today...a friend said he heard a medowlark the other day and that he thou8ght spring was here....told him its snowing in Texas where the hell else they gonna go...most likely freeze thems stecker off in a cupple weeks
mcvet i can relate....my dad got killes when i was 13...left mom with 7 kids with the youngest still in dypers...no i wasnt the youngest one....our grand dad kicked mom and us off the ranch because she wouldnt give him custedy of us kids....he was my dads dad...anyway a u hayseeds turnd loose in town was not the best thing to happen...quite a few bad kids in town and us airheads proven we could be just as bad....if i hadent been derafted who knows what would of taken place....the town cop was tryin to talk sence into me...he was a good person....but stouped is as stouped does
any way ive had a good life...and although i cant give my time in nam any credit for it i can give the DIs a lot of it...
