Now I know why us "old Salts" are not on active duty these days, we spend most of our time at the doctors office!!!!!!!!
I had a doctors appt also this morning
It's funny to me all **** stinks not matter what we call it, cat **** the worst by all means, and Horse **** smells like perfume to me and my wife.
When I was dating her she was going out of town and left me a card with some horse **** in it and said " Ain't too pretty, and it doesn't smell sweet, but I think of you when I see it and my heart skips a beat.
She must have been meant for me we have been together 11 years now and still scooping it.
Her in the south I have even seen cow piles made into pen holders.

Montana I think bucking hay should be a right of passage for every lad. Come home from football practice then go throw hay till midnight. .25 a bail. One of the guys I worked for had a regular ole job 9 to 5 more or less. He'd get home from work and drive his swather till the sun came up. Do it every day till the hay was put up. They had 2 old ford tractors with tow behind bailers. There hasn't been a machine invented that can stack hay as well as a stout young lad.

Ok, Now I am about to prove just how much of an old fart I really am. 25 cents a bale!! You musta been rich by the end of summer. I got .01 cent a bale for wheat straw, and .05 cents a bale for Alphalpha. Didn't matter how green, and heavy the Alphalpha bales were either. All day everyday during haying season. And I to think it should be a rite of passage for boys to do some farm work in the summer. Whether shoveling grain, stacking hay, or sorting cattle, and hogs. I remember the cattle truck coming around selling bottle calves, and having to climb in and sort out the good ones. SF

LOL ... throw 4 string bales and the stacker has 2 hay hooks just itching to stab you in the arm. I think it was a quarter a bail. I should have retired on that.
