Well, it's Tuesday morning and I'm back in the saddle at work after spending yesterday afternoon with my Dentist. I got some bondo applied to my molars and sanded down to a semi-smooth finish. Now I can "chew" on the cost of a new crown to replace the patch job. It's overcast here and the occational thunder storm will blow in and out until about 1000, after that we're expecting clearing skies and the return of the sun. Looking for the thermometer to hit 70 today.

Afternoon everyone....
Sorry for being MIA, but the last few days have been a whirlwind....

First off, my son has made TREMENDOUS progress!
Yes, I can actually use a happy face!

Once the meds were able to slow / stop the virus, his body was able to catch up. Not out of the woods entirely, BUT, we have gone from the medical coma a few days ago, to awake! They took the tubes out and for the first time since 4/12 he was allowed some food to eat...(they had been using a tube into his stomach to feed him high protein, high fiber, high calorie "stuff"!)
This morning they gave him applesauce and some fruit drink. For lunch they actually allowed him a soft scrambled egg, OJ, and sugar free CHOCOLATE PUDDING!!!

After the tubes came out, they had him on a mask for 6 hours and about 6 last night they switch him to a nose cannula.

They had a physical therapist in to start working him a bit. As of yesterday, he couldn't hold a pen in his hand and he spoke like a drunk. This is to be expected after two weeks of "sleep".

Another day or two and he will be transferred out if MICU to a regular floor with just 4 beds in his unit.

When I told him what the day was, he was really confused! Like, what happened to those two weeks?!?!

To all of you out there, my everlasting gratitude for you prayers and good wishes. There are to many to name and I would be afraid I'd miss someone, so please, accept this as a general expression.
