Said she was so nervous she only remembered the reason behind five of the folds and forgot to breathe at one point. Still got high marks and was told that everybody was interested in her subject.
Brings to mind the time I was "volunteered" for a Cultural Arts Day while my youngest son was going to elementary school. It was an interesting time for me because life on the home front was on rocky shores, if you know what I mean. I wasn't in the most congenial of dispositions but the show had to go on. My task that day was to show youngsters how to draw. What I did was have each youngster come up to the poster board and draw a line, circle, squiggly. I then asked them what they saw. They said that they just saw lines. I suggested that if they connected the lines a shape would follow; maybe the shape of a dog, cat, bird bus etc. Well, after what I thought was an excruciating nervous and hard time for me I was surprisingly thanked, very graciously, by the schools faculty and students. The faculty even wanted me to give a bit of advise to the students before I left. Keeping in mind my tentative existence at home the only bit of advise I could muster was these two words, "Pack light". Little did the students know what I meant which was never take more than is absolutely necessary because you may never know when it will be time to move on for whatever reason.
I don't know what will be for breakfast in about four hours, maybe apple pancakes and some coffee. Have a good day.
Adios, for now.

Morning Leathernecks,
Another morning in the South with 19 degrees with clear skies with a high of around 47 today. Should have been a Weather man since I'm always right, since I always give the forecast after the fact doesn't have anything to do with my being right.
Honey Ham with toast and Black Coffee for breakfast, Yum Yum
Apple Pancakes? Sounds good. I bet Doc would put Pace Hot Sauce on them.
Doc how does it feel to always have all of us thinking of you?
I'll take you advice and keep my Cinch tight today.

Buddy, and Gary....Had a lousy night, with a BAD nightmare, and woke up crying. That movie, about Chance Phelps, really got to me. I guess that some of us are doomed to live in our own private Hell. Truthfully, the movie was a very positive story, about one Marines Homecoming, that WE know, happened thousands of times in the 60's. GOD BLESS all those fine young Men, who passed on, way before they should have. I'm going to do my best to do something positive today, maybe visit the V.A. Hospital, in Tampa......and give some giggles, and positive reenforcement, to the young Men struggling with terrible physical, and emotional burdens.
Think I'll have a PLAIN breakfast, today.....don't want to be farting TexMex gas, in the Hospital!!!!......SEMPER FI.....DOC

Doc, I didn't watch any movie last night but for some reason I also woke up crying about 4:30 AM from a bad dream. Wonder it it will ever stop? I didn't do or see anything near to what you did and the dreams still come. They stopped at one time but now started again. Wonder if talking to my new Marine friends has triggered something? If so I don't care, its worth it all of you Marines on my friends list and the ones to be added are worth it. I really appreciate everyone on this forum and I'm honored to be on it and have all of you as friends.
My prayer are with you and the other Marines and the ones on Active Duty Overseas now.
Doing something positive today is good, A good way to give back and make you feel better. The last time I visited the VA it was hard to see all those guys in so bad of shape but in good spirits. I get so ****ed about how our government treats us and the service they get. Most of all is the Price they put on a human life and even worse the body they end up with after being in war.
Never judge anyone until you've walked a mile in there shoes.
I know this is not the place for this conversation but I saw your post and just wanted to say good-morning and hope you have a good and my mind and fingers just started working.
O.K. I'll shut up but have a great day Marines and Semper Fi Redman1

Good morning, Marines! There are so many words that are synonymous with Marine... Devil Dog, Leatherneck, warrior, hero, patriot, American... brother. Not to get all mushy but I love all you guys like brothers.
I never got a chance to deploy but I was deeply moved by "Taking Chance". I think anyone with a respect for our honored, cherished fallen will be moved also. I'd like to thank all you guys for being my heroes and more importantly, something I can aspire to.
On to the show! Breakfast was a ham and cheese omelete, toast, OJ and coffee. Working on cutting weight so the SOS will only be a treat for when I'm good. Planned out the whole day (food, PT, homework, the wife...) Who knew I'd miss the structure of military life so much?
Good show, Gary; figured the wife didn't do that bad. The only one who noticed how nervous she was was the professor.

Morning all suppose to be half way nice this morning, lower 60's and sunny. Coffee and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Oh by the way tried the SOS recipe and it was AWESOME, really didn't know what I was missing. Also for those of us who were unable to watch the movie Taking Chance Sunday night it is showing again today as well as on the 26th, with 3 or 4 different show times.

Good Morning Jarheads and Sailors!
Thanks to all the talk here about JimmyDean I now have a JD stash in the fridge and am going to nuke a sausage sandwich as soon as I finish this post.
Here's a morning toast to all you Vets. Thank you for your service and sacrifices!!! Stay positive!! If I find myself thinking too much, particularly negative memories, I find something else to occupy myself and try to change the gears in my head. It's the only coping tool I really know - stay busy.
Have a great day!

10:30 or thereabouts. What a lovely day. Somewhere down the road the house will be repainted another color and yes, she picked out the color. LOL. Not a bad color for sure. She did a good job.
Talking about JD Sausage... Down here in South Florida there are Publix supermarkets. The Publix brand pork sausage is just as good and a bit lighter on the pocket book than JD. It is packaged in original, hot and sage flavors. I buy the original or hot flavor sausage and a package of Publix country gravy mix, Publix biscuits and I am good to go with a fast and easy bastardization of SOS.
Here's hoping that everyone has a good day.
Adios for now.

Evening Marines
Had a good day and hope all of you did
From now on I'm going to save my badd ass attitude and if I want to say something nice I'm going to say NOREMORSE since he is out of the bag for being a good guy and saying nice things.
Doc hope you had a good day!!!
Hope all of us have a good night with no dreams, although if all I have to endure is bad dreams once in a while I'm lucky. Lets never forget the Marines serving now.
Montana, good luck on the colt
