    Bobby's girl needs to fill out a profile here. No profile will get you lots of grief and lowers your cred a bunch...

    Now after you complete that profile may be you could put a full sentence together and ask about that school for intelligence!!!!

    Oops!! Sorry about that. Let's try this again...

    My husband is currently in boot camp in San Diego. When he's done, he'll be going to school for Intelligence. I don't know if it was someone at MEPS that told him this, but someone said that he would probably go to Virginia Beach for school and that the school would would take a year or longer. However, I read an old post on here from 2005 about Intelligence MOS and a Marine was responding to someone's question about it. The Marine made a comment that he loved the 12-WEEK course in Dam Neck.

    So I'm just curious... is the school for Intelligence 12 weeks or a year??? My husband and I figured I would be able to go to where he's at for school if it was a year-long, but I'm sure that's not the case if it's only 12 weeks.

    Can anyone shed some light on this??

    Many thanks in advance for your help!

    It depends on what intel MOS he has...
    Do you know what the number is? My husband is a 2651--a Signals Intel Communitcator (I think that's the correct title). His MOS school was technically about 4-5 months. But there were guys waiting there for almost a year to class-up. If anything, the Marines at Corry Station were not allowed to live with their spouses, but if their spouses chose, they could live off-base and if the Marine had liberty or an out of bounds chit, he could go hang out with his wife. Also, there was a bowling alley not too far from the barracks there, and another Marine wife and I used to go there all the time to meet up with the boys and play a few games.

    It's all different on every base and for every MOS. Where they were at Corry Station, there were at least 3 MOSs that I know of that were Intel. Each had a different length of time to stay there. Each had different requirements and different leadership. So it really depends on your husband's actual MOS.

    I was really confused on everything until David's 10-day leave after Boot. THEN he actually had answers, so you might just have to be patient.

    12 weeks is the typical school length for 0231 Intelligence Specialist. Add at least a week or two on to that time period (perhaps more but likely not less) while at Dam Neck waiting for the school to 'pick up' his class.

    You won't be able to go if the school is 12 weeks.

    Thank you for the responses! I don't know what his MOS number is. I also talked to our recruiter a little bit about this and got some more answers from him. Basically I'll have to be patient, like DobbinsBlythe said, and wait til he's done with boot camp when he'll know more! :O)

    Thanks again!

    Sgt Leprechaun Has It Right. No Spouses Unless It Is Like A Year. You Can Have A Personal Vehicle There Though. And Liberty May Allow Weekend Travel Up/down The East Coast. There Is So Much Knowledge To Study While At Dam Neck, Va He Wouldn't Have Much Time For You Unfortunately. The Course Is Pretty Demanding. Re-enlistment Bonuses Are Good For The 02 Community As Well As Attaining Rank.

    Dude, chill out... What are you, a Leatherneck.com moderator? I have seen you comment things like this all over Leatherneck.com. People are trying to get information on the Marine Corps here, not get called out on not having a complete profile.

    class schedules for intelligence mos

    Hi, my name is Stacy and my fiance is currently in Virginia going through tbs. After he graduates in January, the plan is to go for human intelligence. I was hoping someone would be able to give me information on when some of the mos classes for intelligence begin and where he might be for the classes. We're getting married in April and were just told that may not work due to a clash in classes and whether he will be given leave.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
