Headquarters element returns

About 90 Marines and sailors with the headquarters element of Marine Air Group 29 returned to New River Air Station Sunday morning.

The group deployed to Iraq in Jan. 2007. The troops were part of the 4,400 who deployed to replace California-based forces in Iraq.

The return marks the completion of MAG-29’s second deployment. They left for a six-month stay in Iraq in 2003.
