The Atheist And The Marine
THE ATHEIST AND THE MARINE
A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan . One of the courses had a professor who was a vowed atheist and a member of the ACLU.
One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, 'God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes.'
The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am God. I'm still waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his Chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the plat form! . The professor was out cold.
The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?' The Marine calmly replied, 'God was too busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid **** and act like an *******. So, He sent me.'

I've heard this one before. I really like it. I've always secretly hoped that I could be in that situation one day and do that. Cause I definitely would.

I find it amazing how people who say they are "atheists and agnostics" find the time to still use the lord's name in vain and call on him when they need him. These same people are the ones taking "under God" out of our pledge and preventing moral and ethical values from reaching our youth. Every time I get the opportunity I share the intensity of sunday service at Parris Island and how so many would workship and praise with unmatched desire and enthusiasm and without prejudices or restrictions. We were all Green and we all Beleived in HIM!

The Atheist And The Marine
I love this story.
I have a bible study with some army buddies and the story goes that the Marine is being used by God, just like Moses striking the rock to bring water.
Two things an atheist can't stand: a well prepared believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and the United States Military.

One Nation, "Under God".
One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in aclassroom. The teacher was going to explainevolution to the children. The teacher askeda little boy: Tommy do you see the treeoutside?TOMMY: Yes.TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grassoutside?TOMMY: Yes.TEACHER: Go outside and look up and seeif you can see the sky.TOMMY: Okay. I've read that joke before. It's silly. Not all Marines are religious, you know. I don't believe any supernatural religious nonsense. I'm proud to be both a Marine and an atheist (more accurately, a secular humanist).

Great. (rolleyes) Yet another "god is great" thread on yet another forum.
Just try to friggan' count how many people are going to die today because somebody's god is better than the other's god...
But...I'm just trying to make a point and not cut anybody down. Believe what you want, I do. Although I don't feel the need to use religious emotionalism to express myself. This thread is as in bad taste, as if the original poster used the "N-word."

My Comment is: ‘AMEN!’
Florida Court Sets: Atheist Holy Day!
Gotta love this Judge!
You must read this...a proper decision by the courts...for a change.
FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY
In Florida, an atheist created a case against the upcoming
Easter and Passover Holy days..
He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against
Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days...
The argument was that it was unfair that
atheists had no such recognized days.
The case was brought before a judge.
After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer,
the judge banged his gavel declaring, "Case dismissed!"
The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying,
"Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case?
The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others.
The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah,
yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays.."
The judge leaned forward in his chair saying,
"But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."
The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special
observance or holiday for atheists."
The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day.
Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.'
Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that,
if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool.
Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned."
You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!
This is too good NOT to forward!
