PAWHUSKA — A Tulsa man has been released on $50,000 bond following his arrest last Friday on charges of lewd molestation

David J. Menna, 51, was sought by authorities after he allegedly fondled an 11-year-old boy during a Young Marines “group camp-out” at Osage Hills State Park earlier this month, according to reports.

District attorney’s office officials in Osage County confirmed this week that Menna was arrested on two counts of lewd molestation while attending another Young Marines group function at Robbers Cave State Park in Latimer County. The Young Marines group is reportedly sponsored by the Marine Corps Reserve Center in Broken Arrow.

Charges against Menna stem from an alleged incident that reportedly occurred Sept. 1 at Osage Hills State Park in Osage County.

Witnesses reportedly told authorities that Menna had organized a group camp-out at the park, located between Pawhuska and Bartlesville on U.S. Highway 60, and that during the camp-out Menna was seen examining a naked child “for ticks.”

Menna allegedly told witnesses that he was a physician and “insisted that this be done for the medical safety of the child,” the affidavit states.
