    MOS's

Ok so today I found out that I got my job. My three choices were Marine Corps Security Forces, Combat Support and Vehicle and Weapons Maintenance. I got Combat Support because MCSF had no slots open. I'm happy with this choice but I dont know what job I'll have. On the Marine Corps website listed under Combat Support it has all of these
Engineer and Construction: Metal worker, combat engineer, bulk fuel specialist
    Utilities: Electrician, refrigeration mechanic
    Transportation: Motor vehicle operator
    Public affairs: Combat correspondent
Personnel and Administration: Administrative clerk, postal clerk, personnel clerk
Logistics: Maintenance management specialists, logistics specialists, air delivery specialists
Supply: Supply administration and operations specialists
Equipment and Vehicle Repair: Equipment mechanics, vehicle mechanics
Ammunition and Ordinance Disposal: Small arms technician, machinist, ammunition technician
Military Police and Corrections: Military Police, correctional specialist

So my question is do I get to choose one or three from those or do I now go to the needs of the Marine Corps? Thanks.

Wow, you're wide open there. I'd think that it's going to be narrowed down to a specific MOS or job. From what I can remember, most of those jobs you listed under "Combat Support" are individual MOS's. My guess is, if it isn't decided before you go to boot camp then it'll be done there based on the needs of the Corps.

I went in under a similiar deal- I could have been ordinance, arty, comm, or a couple other things. Ended up as a comm guy,

If this is what Combat Support (or CE accounding to my paper) says then I'm very happy. Thanks guys, I have a DEP meeting Saturday I'll remember to ask.

If I'm correct, what your recruiter is referring to as combat support is something like the B6 ground option...It's kind of like going in as an open contract except the MOS's that you can get assigned are narrowed down further into those MOS's. My suggestion is that if there are any MOS's that you like within those options then choose it and get contracted for that specific MOS. Otherwise you may get stuck with something that you're not happy with. If you want to know about being a combat engineer let me know and I'll give you the scoop. Besides that the rest of those MOS's I don't know that much about...but I can always find out if you need me to.
