Finding Husband's Unit 1968 Parris Island

I want to surprise my husband with his Parris Island Yearbook.

But, I do not know/remember his Unit or Battalion and, since I would like to surprise him with this gift, I can't ask him, myself.

Is there any way that I could look up this information?

I have his SSN and I remember when he graduated (August 1968).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!
    Susan

The Marine Corps maintains records for one year for the Graduation Platoon Book. The following information will help you as far as the platoon photo, which will make a Marine stand tall.
You can call Parris Island and ask the operator for the phone number where the Marine Corps rings are ordered. The classes for new recruits, ordering of Marine rings and Platoon photos are located in the same building.
To insure the correct photo is ordered it is necessary to know at least one Drill Instructors name, Month graduated and the platooon number. Cost per platoon photo was $10.00 the last one I ordered. They have on file all Platoons back to 1945.

If you have any problem ordering send me an email and I will help.

    Finding Your Husbands Year book.

    Hi Susan,
I would start with contacting Parris Island. Call a general info number for the base and go from there. Also the National Record Archives could help. Search Something Like finding Militry records.

    Good Luck,
