OCEANSIDE, Calif. — Want front-row viewing for this year’s Miramar Air Show flight demonstrations and displays? Tickets went on sale this week, so you’d better get online or on the phone to reserve your seat.

The popular annual show runs Oct. 12-14 and will feature the Air Force’s famed Thunderbirds, the first time the demonstration team will perform at the show. It will also feature the Army Golden Knights parachute team, civilian jet and aircraft acrobatic flights, and a twilight fireworks show.

Military personnel, including active-duty members, reservists and retirees, as well as Defense Department personnel stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, can get grandstand tickets at no cost; discounts for other “preferred” seating areas are available if you purchase the tickets at the air station’s ticket office.

The cost for “preferred” seating for non-military attendees varies by date and time of performances:

* Grandstand: Starts at $5 for adults, $3 for children (age 3 to 11).

* Box seats: Start at $10 for adults, $9 for children.

* Premium box seats: Start at $14 for adults, $10 for children.

* Chalets: Start at $28 for adults, $18 for children.

Parking and general admission are free to all attendees.

Don’t want to pay to sit? Grab your blanket and plop down on the flight line; “blanket seating” is free.

Order tickets at the Miramar ticket office, or call the Marine Corps Community Services ticket line at (877) 772-5425.

Got questions for the ticket office? Call (85 577-4126 or (85 577-4141 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, local time.
