Question on personal vehicles

So, I am looking for input What are people doing with their personal vehicles when they leave for boot camp? I am leaving June 23rd for Parris Island and I am starting to try to get my personal stuff sorted out (finances, billls, and all those other fun things) and the issue of my car keeps coming up. I just bought it last June (it's a 98 Jeep Cherokee) prior to deciding to join the Marines, and hadn't really given much thought about it until just recently. My original plan was to just put it in storage until I am assigned somewhere. Lately though, people have been telling me I should probably just sell it and worry about buying another car later. I have reservations about doing that, namely that if I sell it now I will just pay off the loan and won't have money to set aside for another down payment. Plus, my car was a total find, low miles and a great price! What do you think? I know it could be quite a while until I could retrieve my car from storage, but do you think it's worth it not to sell it?

Keep yer Jeep. You'll need it later on. As long as ya can keep up the payments, that is. Yer kinda stuck with it anyway.

I would keep it....but if you can let a trusted family member, friend...to run it once in awhile.....
It it not good to have them sitting...

For the reasons you stated, keep the jeep.

Someone may know more about it than I do, but without their input, I would:

Put it on blocks so it is not resting on the tires, and disconnect the battery.

If someone has a more substantial idea, well, it's not the first time I've been wrong.
