Who wuz it?
It was either Ann Margart or Racquel Welch. I don't remember which one. She put on a USO show wearing a yellow, skin tight jump suit. Somebody took her picture and when it was developed, because of sweating on stage, it looked as though she had nothing on. The negative was probably touched up, to be even more naked, and thousands of copies were made.
At least five framed 8x10 photos could be found hanging in every hooch.
The original was black and white, but some enterprising soul added color to it.
Some idiot sent a copy to her asking her to autograph it. The **** hit the fan. There was a cordinated raid by MP's throughout NAM. The ARVN raided the souvineer shops and the US MP's raided the bases.
Not only were the walls stripped, but footlockers, wall lockers, and seabags were searched for the offending photos. For a while ALL stateside bound baggage, carry-on and checked, was inspected. They missed souvineer weapons, but I doubt if many of the photos got through.
That photo had to be the number one pin-up queen of the year.

I'm pretty sure it was Ann Margret, Top.
There was an almost life-sized copy of that picture hanging in the 3/4 supply tent at Phu Bai in '66. She was definitely my favorite! What a picture. Semper Fidelis, Frank

I remember going though the oppositions rucksacks one time on the DMZ after a ruckus. I don't know where they got them but we found a number of playboy magazines.
