When I got out of the Marines I joined the Air Force Reserve and was stationed with the 452nd Cams 22nd bomb wing SAC at March Air Force Base. I was the crew chief on a KC-135 refueler. As I got to fly with the bird
I was privileged to get to see the inflight refueling of one of the two B-1 bombers (only two built) we were the inflight refuelers for the B-52's as they cruised around world waiting for the red phone to ring.
The boomer (the man that operates the refueling nozzle) describes themselves as "all we do is lay on our stomach and pass gas"
The Air Force is nice if you are on a flight status otherwise it is mostly just boring (nicer conditions than the Marine Corps though).
I have already seen all these as they play constantly on tv as they are recruiting ads.
