Chances of getting active through waivers??

i have been doing tons of paperwork and completing referrals, and the application... was told chances are slim ill get active? but they are taking plenty of reserves!? i sense something strange about that statement alone. why would there be a difference? but what do you guys Marines think?
the waivers are for a dui, misdemeanor possession charge. ???

The active duty forces are being downsized because of sequestration. The Secretary of Defense just recently said the USMC could go from 180,000 to 150,000. No idea how the reserve component is included in that number (and if the USMC is taking plenty of reservists like you were told).

Due to downsizing, the chances of your waivers being approved are slim to none. That's because, there are way more than enough applicants with clean records out there. There is really no reason for the USMC to take a chance on you.

Waivers mean more work for recruiters who are busy enough already. Instead of taking time to work on your waivers, they could be spending time with their poolees or applicants who don't need waivers. IF you are able to find a recruiter willing to work on waivers for you it won't hurt to ask. One waiver these days is difficult enough but two is pretty much unheard of.
