    QUESTION FROM a SEABEE

This is my story to lead up to my question.

While in the Seabees (reserves) in Knoxville Tn. There was an officer (reg navy) who had it out for Seabees. I recieved an order from this officer, stating that since I had not checked in after training I was immediately transferred to inactive reserves. When I called to challenge this I was told that there is nothing I could do, The Petty Officer I spoke with told me "off the record" that this officer was glotting that he kicked out several Seabees that same week. This was due to not checking in within a time period after 2 week training, I had an out of state family emergency.

This ended up cutting my service from 6 years reserves with 2 years inactive to 5 years and 3 inactive.

If I'm reading the eligibilty for VA benefits right, This guy screwed me royally.

Heres the link with the eligibility requirments
see Selected Reserves or National Guard section.

    http://www.homeloans.va.gov/elig2.htm

Also , does anyone know how many points you need for VA benefits
Any opinons or am I S.O.L?

    Thanks

From what I hear and see...

    YOU ARE SOL.
Unless of course, you were injured while active.
What are your dates of service?

Best thing to do is to go speak with a veteran service officer. If there is a way around it, they will know. I had a lot of claims at the Board of veteran Appeals for denial of certificate of eligibility. The VA is not very giving in this regard.
