'Canes' Wesley to bring Stanley Cup to Camp Lejeune

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Glen Wesley will take the Stanley Cup to Camp Lejeune on Thursday and visit with Marines wounded in combat, the team said Tuesday.

Wesley and his wife, Barb, are scheduled to visit the East Coast's largest Marine Corps base about 100 miles southeast of Raleigh with the storied trophy as part of the Wesley family's day with the Stanley Cup. Each player gets to spend at least a day with the trophy during the offseason after winning the NHL championship.
