    Smile Woman Leatherneck Song

I have been trying to remember the word to the Woman Leatherneck song that we sang going into Family Day before Graduation. I know the individual verses were about out DI's but the chorus was the same. Can anybody help me out.

We’re one for all and all for honor. And we’ll work to keep our country strong. We’re the Women Marines Association. Come, Marines, and join us in our song.

“We’ll encourage all who serve our nation, striving always to keep our country strong. We’re the Women Marines Association. Come, Marines, and join us in our song.”

—Stanzas two and five of the
    Women Marines Association song

We're Women Marines and we march with pride.
We march shoulder to shoulder and side by side.
On our left. Our left. Our left. Our left.
Hi lee. Hi low. Your left your right your left your right you better know.
Cuz it's your left foot ladies. Your left your right your left.
Your left foot ladies. Your left foot strikes the deck.
We march to the chow hall. We march everywhere.
We march shoulder to shoulder to show we care.
On our left. Our left. Our left. Our left.
Hi lee. Hi low. Your left your right your left your right you better know.

That's okay Ed. Doubt many male Marines would know the Lady Leatherneck song.

The part above is the part that remains the same throughout. There's an echo part that some of the women do as well as each platoon customize the song to their own platoon and DI's. And I've since learned not all of the WM's learn{ed} the Lady Leatherneck song. It sure was inspiring to hear when in 1st and 2nd phase. Even more motivating when finally in 3rd and could begin making the verses for ourselves and later in 3rd phase to begin to practice and sing it.

Found this one on the web, I think that you had to replace the names of the Drill Instructors to match those of your recruit platoon...

That's just a version of the song. Though not just the DI names are replaced. Each platoon will customize their song not only with their DI's names, but what their DI's would say, how they were motiviating and experiences with them. So the beginning part was the only "standard" part. The part I posted up there is what I remember as standard. The rest was customized and not just names.

Thanks to all that posted. Now all I gotta do is find someone from my platoon that might remember our verses.

Try this for locating. I have found Marines I served with from 1990. The only problem with locating women is they may get married (God only knows why and change names.
