Prior Service to Reserves
Hi all!!
Quick question..... I am prior service from another branch, am I eligable for the Marine Corps Reserves? If so, will I have to go thru basic training again? I would like to know so I can better prepare myself. Thanks for your help!!

You will definetly have to go through boot camp and earn the title Marine.

That is what I thought, and that is the way it should be!! I just kept getting different things told to me, so I went to where I felt I could get an honest answer!! Thanks again for the information.

jmj, I hope you don't rule it out because you will have to go to boot camp. Having been in the military before, you will likely be put in a leadership billet at boot camp, and have the chance to do quite well. Plus, you will understand what it means when we say you "earn the title"
