    What's yer favorite Christmas song?

    Gonna post a few of mine.

    ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Angels we have heard on high,

    Singing sweetly through the night,

    And the mountains in reply

    Echoing their brave delight.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    Shepherds, why this jubilee?

    Why these songs of happy cheer?

    What great brightness did you see?

    What glad tiding did you hear?

    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    Come to Bethlehem and see

    Him whose birth the angels sing;

    Come, adore on bended knee

    Christ, the Lord, the new-born King.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    See him in a manger laid

    Whom the angels praise above;

    Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,

    While we raise our hearts in love.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    Gloria in excelsis Deo.

    THE CHRISTMAS SONG

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Chestnuts roasting on an open fire

    Jack Frost nipping at your nose

    Yuletide carols being sung by a choir

    And folks dressed up like Eskimos

    Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe

    Help to make the season bright

    Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow

    Will find it hard to sleep tonight

    They know that Santa's on his way

    He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh

    And every mother's child is gonna spy

    To see if reindeer really know how to fly

    And so I'm offering this simple phrase

    For kids from one to ninety two

    Although its been said many times many ways

    Merry Christmas to you

    God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    God rest you merry, gentlemen, Let nothing you dismay,

    Remember Christ our Savior Was born on Christmas day,

    To save us all from Satan's pow'r When we were gone astray;

    CHORUS:
    O tidings of comfort and joy,

    Comfort and joy,

    O tidings of comfort and joy.

    From God our heavenly Father A blessed angel came.

    And unto certain shepherds Brought tidings of the same,

    How that in Bethlehem was born The Son of God by name:

    Chorus

    "Fear not," then said the angel, "Let nothing you affright,

    This day is born a Savior, Of virtue, power, and might;

    So frequently to vanquish all The friends of Satan quite";

    Chorus

    The shepherds at those tidings Rejoiced much in mind,

    And left their flocks a-feeding, In tempest, storm, and wind,

    And went to Bethlehem straightway This blessed babe to find:

    Chorus

    But when to Bethlehem they came, Where at this infant lay

    They found him in a manger, Where oxen feed on hay;

    His mother Mary kneeling, Unto the Lord did pray:

    Chorus

    Now to the Lord sing praises, All you within this place,

    And with true love and brotherhood Each other now embrace;

    This holy tide of Christmas All others doth deface:

    Chorus

    HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

    Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Have yourself a Merry little Christmas

    Let your hearts be light

    From now on, our troubles will be out of sight

    Have yourself a merry little Christmas

    Make the Yuletide gay

    From now on, our troubles will be miles away

    Here we are as in olden days

    Happy golden days of yore

    Faithful friends who are dear to us

    Gather near to us once more

    Through the years we all will be together

    If the fates allow

    Hang a shining star upon the highest bough

    And have yourself a merry little Christmas now

    It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

    Meredith Willson

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

    Ev'rywhere you go

    Take a look in the five-and-ten,

    Glistening once again

    With candy canes and silver lanes aglow

    It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

    Toys in ev'ry store

    But the prettiest sight to see

    is the holly that will be

    On your own front door

    A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots

    Is the wish of Barney and Ben

    Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk

    Is the hope of Janice and Jen

    And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again

    It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

    Ev'rywhere you go

    There's a tree in the Grand Hotel,

    One in the park as well

    The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow

    It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

    Soon the bells will start

    And the thing that will make them ring

    Is the carol that you sing

    Right within your heart

    It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

    O HOLY NIGHT

    John S. Dwight and Adolphe C. Adam

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    O Holy night, the stars are brightly shining

    It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth

    Long lay the world in sin and error pining

    Till He appeared and the soul felt His worth

    A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices

    For yonder beams a new and glorious morn

    Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!

    O night divine! O night when Christ was born!

    O night divine! O night, O night divine!

    Led by the light of faith serenely beaming

    With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand

    So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming

    Here came the wise men from the Orient land

    The King of Kings lay in lowly manger

    In all our trials born to be our friend

    He knows our need

    To our weakness no stranger

    Behold your King! before the lowly bend!

    Behold your King! before Him bend!

    Truly he taught us to love one another

    His law is love and His gospel is peace

    Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother

    And in His name all oppression shall cease

    Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus rise we

    Let all within us praise His holy name

    Christ is the Lord

    Then ever, ever praise we

    His pow'r and glory ever more proclaim

    His pow'r and glory ever more proclaim

    Sleigh Ride

    Mitchell Parish, Leroy Anderson 1948

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,

    ring ting tingling too

    Come on, it's lovely weather

    for a sleigh ride together with you,

    Outside the snow is falling

    and friends are calling "Yoo hoo,"

    Come on, it's lovely weather

    for a sleigh ride together with you.

    Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap,

    let's go, Let's look at the show,

    We're riding in a wonderland of snow.

    Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap,

    it's grand, Just holding your hand,

    We're gliding along with a song

    of a wintry fairy land.

    Our cheeks are nice and rosy

    and comfy cozy are we

    We're snuggled up together

    like two birds of a feather would be

    Let's take that road before us

    and sing a chorus or two

    Come on, it's lovely weather

    for a sleigh ride together with you.

    There's a birthday party

    at the home of Farmer Gray

    It'll be the perfect ending a perfect day

    We'll be singing the songs

    we love to sing without a single stop,

    At the fireplace while we watch

    the chestnuts pop. Pop! pop! pop!

    There's a happy feeling

    nothing in the world can buy,

    When they pass around the chocolate

    and the pumpkin pie

    It'll nearly be like a picture print

    by Currier and Ives

    These wonderful things are the things

    we remember all through our lives!

    of a wintry fairy land

    Our cheeks are nice and rosy

    and comfy cozy are we

    We're snuggled up together

    like two birds of a feather would be

    Let's take that road before us

    and sing a chorus or two

    Come on, it's lovely weather

    for a sleigh ride together with you.

    White Christmas

    (Irving Berlin)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

    Just like the ones I used to know

    Where the tree tops glisten and the children listen

    To hear sleigh bells in the snow

    I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

    With every Christmas card I write

    May your days be merry and bright

    And may all your Christmases be white

    JINGLE BELL ROCK

    Joe Beal and Jim Boothe

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Jingle-bell, jingle-bell, jingle-bell rock,

    Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring.

    Snowin' an blowin' up bushels of fun,

    Now the jingle hop has begun.

    Jingle-bell, jingle-bell, jingle-bell rock,

    Jingle bells chime in jingle-bell time.

    Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square

    In the frosty air.

    What a bright time, it's the right time

    To rock the night away.

    Jingle-bell time is a swell time

    To go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh.

    Giddy-yap jingle horse; pick up your feet;

    Jingle around the clock.

    Mix and mingle in a jinglin' beat;

    That's the jingle-bell rock.

    Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

    Oh! You better watch out,
    You better not cry,
    You better not pout,
    I'm telling you why:
    Santa Claus is coming to town!

    He's making a list,
    Checking it twice,
    Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.
    Santa Claus is coming to town!

    He sees you when you're sleeping,
    He knows when you're awake.
    He knows if you've been bad or good,
    So be good for goodness sake!

    Oh! You better watch out,
    You better not cry,
    You better not pout,
    I'm telling you why:
    Santa Claus is coming to town!

    Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer
    (Randy Brooks, 1977)

    CHORUS:
    Grandma got run over by a reindeer
    Walking home from our house Christmas Eve.
    You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
    But as for me an' Grandpa, we believe.

    She'd been drinking too much eggnog,
    And we begged her not to go.
    But she forgot her medication,
    And she staggered out the door
    into the snow.

    When we found her Christmas morning,
    At the scene of the attack
    She had hoof prints on her forehead,
    And incriminating Claus marks
    on her back.

    CHORUS

    Now we're all so proud of Grandpa,
    He's been taking this so well.
    See him in there watching football,
    Drinking beer and playing cards
    with cousin Mel.

    It's not Christmas without Grandma,
    All the family's dressed in black.
    And we just can't help but wonder
    Should we open up her gifts
    or send them back?
    SEND THEM BACK!!!

    CHORUS

    Now the goose is on the table
    And the pudding made of fig (ahhhhh!)
    And the blue and silver candles,
    That would just have matched the hair
    in Grandma's wig.

    I've warned all my friends and neighbours,
    Better watch out for yourselves.
    They should never give a license,
    To a man who drives a sleigh
    and plays with elves.

    Sing it, Grandpa!

    CHORUS

    Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

    You know Dasher and Dancer,
    and Prancer and Vixen,
    Comet and Cupid,
    and Donner and Blitzen,
    But do you recall
    The most famous reindeer of all?

    Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
    Had a very shiny nose,
    And if you ever saw it,
    You could even say it glows.
    All of the other reindeer
    Used to laugh and call him names;
    They never let poor Rudolph
    Join in any reindeer games.

    Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
    Santa came to say:
    "Rudolph with your nose so bright,
    Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
    Then how the reindeer loved him
    As they shouted out with glee,
    "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,
    You'll go down in history."

    The First Noel

    The first Noel the angel did say
    Was to certain poor shepherds
    in fields as they lay;
    In fields as they lay, keeping their sheep,
    On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
    Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,
    Born is the King of Israel.

    They looked up and saw a star
    Shining in the east beyond them far,
    And to the earth it gave great light,
    And so it continued both day and night.
    (CHORUS)

    And by the light of that same star
    Three wise men came from country far;
    To seek for a king was their intent,
    And to follow the star wherever it went.
    (CHORUS)

    This star drew nigh to the northwest,
    O'er Bethlehem it took it rest,
    And there it did both stop and stay
    Right over the place where Jesus lay.
    (CHORUS)

    Then entered in those wise men three
    Full reverently upon their knee,
    and offered there in his presence
    Their gold, and myrrh, and frankincense.
    (CHORUS)

    Then let us all with one accord
    Sing praises to our heavenly Lord;
    That hath made heaven and earth of naught,
    And with his blood mankind hath bought.
    (CHORUS)

    Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

    I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
    Underneath the mistletoe last night.
    She didn't see me creep
    Down the stairs to have a peep;
    She thought that I was tucked up
    in my bedroom fast asleep.

    Then, I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
    Underneath his beard so snowy white;
    Oh, what a laugh it would have been
    If Daddy had only seen
    Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night.

    (Repeat all)

    Sempers,

    Roger

    I'll be Cloned for Christmas
    (to the tune of "I'll be Home for Christmas")
    by D M Goldstein

    I'll be Cloned for Christmas,
    there'll be three of me;
    One to Work, and One to Shop,
    and One just for Parties.

    Christmas Eve, I'm certain,
    I won't be alone;
    I'll be home for Christmas,
    or else I'll send a Clone!

    Walkin' Round in Women's Underwear
    (to the tune of Winter Wonderland)

    Lacy things - the wife is missin,
    Didn't ask - her permission,
    You're wearin' her clothes,
    Her silk pantyhose,
    Walkin' round in women's underwear.

    In the store - there's a teddy,
    Little straps - like spaghetti,
    It holds you so tight,
    Like handcuffs at night,
    Walkin' round in women's underwear.

    In the office there's a guy named Marvin,
    He pretends that he is Murphy Brown.
    He'll say, "Are you ready?" You'll say, "Whoa, Man!"
    "Let's wait until our wives are out of town!"

    Later on, if you wanna,
    You can dress - like Madonna,
    Put on some eyeshade,
    And join the parade,
    Walkin' round in women's underwear!

    Jingle Bells [with kids)

    Jingle Bells Jingle Bells
    The kids all yell and scream
    To us it sounds like anarchy
    But to them it's harmony-HEY!

    Jingle Bells Jingle Bells
    The children tipped the tree
    Antique ornaments smashed to bits
    The kids each say "not me"

    Dad goes to work each day
    Engineering things for flight
    But his real job is at home
    Refereeing little fights

    Mom drives the kids around
    In an ancient Caravan
    Karate, swimming, children's choir
    Espresso in her hand-HEY!

    Jingle Bells Jingle Bells
    Jingle all the way
    Our wish to you is that you have
    A...Happy...Holi-dayyyyyyyyy.

    Have a Holly Jolly Christmas
    Sung by Burl Ives

    Have a holly jolly Christmas; It's the best time of the year.
    I don't know if there'll be snow, but have a cup of cheer.
    Have a holly jolly Christmas, and when you walk down the street,
    Say hello to friends you know and ev'ryone you meet.
    Oh, ho, the mistletoe hung where you can see;
    Somebody waits for you; kiss her once for me.
    Have a holly jolly Christmas, and in case you didn't hear,
    Oh, by golly, have a holly jolly Christmas this year.
    Holly jolly. Holly jolly. Aaaah.
    Have a holly jolly Christmas, and in case you didn't hear,
    Oh, by golly, have a holly jolly Christmas this year.

    As a further restructuring, today's global challenges require the North Pole to continue to look for better, more competitive steps. Effective immediately, the following economy measures are to take place in the "Twelve Days of Christmas" subsidiary:

    - The partridge will be retained, but the pear tree never turned out to be the cash crop forecasted. It will be replaced by a plastic hanging plant, providing considerable savings in maintenance;

    - The two turtle doves represent a redundancy that is simply not cost effective. In addition, their romance during working hours could not be condoned. The positions are therefore eliminated;

    - The three French hens will remain intact. After all, everyone loves the French;

    - The four calling birds will be replaced by an automated voice mail system, with a call waiting option. An analysis is underway to determine who the birds have been calling, how often and how long they talked;

    - The five golden rings have been put on hold by the Board of Directors. Maintaining a portfolio based on one commodity could have negative implications for institutional investors. Diversification into other precious metals as well as a mix of T-Bills and high technology stocks appear to be in order;

    - The six geese a-laying constitutes a luxury which can no longer be afforded. It has long been felt that the production rate of one egg per goose per day is an example of the decline in productivity. Three geese will be let go, and an upgrading in the selection procedure by
    personnel will assure management that from now on every goose it gets will be a good one;

    - The seven swans a-swimming is obviously a number chosen in better times. Their function is primarily decorative. Mechanical swans are on order. The current swans will be retrained to learn some new strokes and therefore enhance their outplacement;

    - As you know, the eight maids-a-milking concept has been under heavy scrutiny by the EEOC. A male/female balance in the workforce is being sought. The more militant maids consider this a dead-end job with no upward mobility. Automation of the process may permit the maids to try a-mending, a-mentoring or a-mulching;

    - Nine ladies dancing has always been an odd number.
    This function will be phased out as these individuals grow older and can no longer do the steps;

    - Ten Lords-a-leaping is overkill. The high cost of Lords plus the expense of international air travel prompted the Compensation Committee to suggest replacing this group with ten out-of-work congressmen. While leaping ability may be somewhat sacrificed, the savings are significant because we expect an oversupply of unemployed congressmen this year;

    - Eleven pipers piping and twelve drummers drumming is a simple case of the band getting too big. A substitution with a string quartet, a cutback on new music and no uniforms will produce savings which will drop right down to the bottom line;

    We can expect a substantial reduction in assorted people, fowl, animals and other expenses. Though incomplete, studies indicate that stretching deliveries over twelve days is inefficient. If we can drop ship in one day, service levels will be improved.

    Regarding the lawsuit filed by the attorney’s association seeking expansion to include the legal profession
    ("thirteen lawyers-a-suing"), action is pending.

    Lastly, it is not beyond consideration that deeper cuts may be necessary in the future to stay competitive. Should that happen, the Board will request management to scrutinize the Snow White Division to see if seven dwarfs is the right number.
