The rules, con'td
This goes out for all the Pvt. Pyle's and, as my Staff Sergeant likes to call them, "blue falcons" out here on the site that just can't seem to get it right. I have taken the time to translate the Poolee Hall Rules down onto your level of intelligence. Well, actually no, its impossible to get that low. This one is for you, enjoy.
Rule One you are not a Marine and this is a Marine site......therefore you have no rights and are merely a guest that we wish to help achieve your goal!
Translation: You are NOT a Marine! Know your role and shut your mouth. Enough said.
Rule Two before you post a thread make darn sure that you have researched the forums so that you are not embarrassed by the fact it was asked a week ago!
Translation: Stop being lazy and before you say what you think, freaking THINK! Do some research using the search bar or even Google. It's not like you have to grab a 100,000 page book and read it page by page to find an answer. The search feature on this site does the job for you.
Rule Three when using the words Marine or Corps on this site they will be capitalized at all times!
Translation: Not only is it proper English to capitalize all official names and titles (They teach that in 2nd grade), but it shows respect! Respect is a two-way street. The Golden Rule. They also teach that very early in elementary school.
Rule Four make sure that you have a completed profile....less than that is unsat and will get you banned for a period up to and including permanently!
Translation: Did your parents not teach not to talk to strangers? Give some background information, let others know who they are speaking to. It's not like the profile asks for your social security. Introduce yourself, it's common courtesy.
Rule Five be courteous at all times with your peers and especially with Marines, if you verbally attack someone you will be dealt with severely and disrespect to a Marine will not be tolerated!
Translation: Remember when we had that talk about the Golden Rule? This rule actually asks you to use it. Refer to Rule One for further details.
Rule Six never use the words Semper Fi, Semper Fidelis or OORAH you do not rate that here until you have earned the title of United States Marine!
Translation: If you go to a Military Surplus Store you can buy a Marine Corps Officer Uniform, does that mean it's okay for you to wear it? And if you are not smart enough and answered yes to that last question, are you not just a poser and a faker? Also, refer to Rule One for further details.
Rule Seven the forums are not a social chatroom if you want to speak to a peer in that way do it on PM or by email or in the chatroom!
Translation: There is a right time and place for everything, and the forums are not the right place to socialize. If you are in the middle of your parents funeral, is it okay if the person next to you asks you how was your day, with a big old smile in their face?
Rule Eight When you post make sure that it looks like you are submitting it to your English teacher for their determination whether you pass or fail!
Translation: When you do decide to say something, make sure it shows that you have went to school. If you are in the DEP, and planning to ship for boot camp sometime soon, then you probably have some type of high school education under your belt, no exceptions. Show it! For Christ's sake, most servers underline misspelled words in red for you, you don't have to be Einstein to figure that one out.
Rule Nine make sure when you post a thread its in the proper forum, you do not rate to post in a Marine forum at any time prior to earning the title. Read the headings over the recruit forums for a guide!
Translation: If your anus is broken, is it okay to go to the eye doctor to fix it? Or if you need an open heart surgery, is it okay for the school janitor to operate?
Rule Ten there will no political threads or posts of any kind in the recruit forums, you are here to concentrate on the yellow foot steps not politics!
Translation: Nobody cares how much you are in love with President Obama and how you personally wish to hand wash his skivvies. (Side note: My browser just underlined the President's name in red).
Leprechaun note: OR any other party or politician. You don't rate those opinions on THIS forum until you EARN THE TITLE. Period.
Rule Eleven be ready and flexible to accept any and all new rules and criticism at all times. Use your time here to prepare yourself for the greatest challenge you will ever face!
Translation: Would you like some cheese with that wine? How many times does it take for someone to tell you that you can't be a fighter pilot if you score 29 in the Asvab for you to realize that they might be on to something. That does not necessarily means you are stupid, but yeah you are. Push out the jive, bring in the love.
Rule Twelve your profile must include your ship date. This is to validate you against some wannabe that calls him or her self a Poolee. Only Poolees have ship dates not wannabes.
Translation: Remember how it sucks that you don't rate the privileges that Marines do? Remember how you huffed and puffed because you are not special? Okay, here is something that you do rate that makes you different from EVERYONE else... You have a boot camp ship date. Use it, or lose it!

Bumped. It's OBVIOUS some of you either aren't reading these, lack basic reading comprehension skills, or just don't give a flying frack.
I suggest you fix yourselves NOW before I do it for you. As of tonite, 2 poolees got 7 day extractions for disrespect, violations of site rules, and just thinking they can do whatever they feel like.
Go ahead and try me and see what happens.
I weep for what this country is becoming, and fear for my children and grandchildren's future if any more democrats gain national office. We lose more and more freedoms every single day to creeping nannystatism and those who vote for Democrats only want to increase that. Anyone voting for a 'dem' is someone who likely wants to take everything YOU have worked for and mortgage your kids future as well.

Bump, with a reinforcement: (From the rules posted in 'Ask a Marine'). These rules primarily pertain to that particular forum but also apply here in certain situations, which should be obvious...)...but if you have a question ASK.
Additional Hints are added. ALL WANNABEES AND MARINES POSTING IN THIS SECTION ARE HEREBY PRESUMED TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING, READING, UNDERSTANDING, AND COMPREHENDING THE RULES POSTED.
************
Fill out your profile. This is will allow us to provide an accurate answer using the most information available.
Plus, it's part of the rules you agree to when you sign up for Leatherneck. Failing to fill out your profile will get you either a nasty message (FILL OUT YOUR PROFILE) or the entire thread being deleted. Also, we don't want your information so we can steal your identity, it's so we know to whom we are speaking. That means, more than a first name or some sort of nickname like 'C-Dawg'. That, too, will get you banned and/or deleted.
Read the rules of the Leatherneck.com website for Poolees and Wannabees: http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=28989
And if you DON'T read them, you'll still be held responsible for them. ALL OF THEM.
Remember that this is mostly for Poolees and Wannabees or, in some cases, questions on their behalf. There are more appropriate forums for Marines and Marine Family Topics.
Correct. If you aren't here to help, or take issue with the Marines that ARE trying, at least, to help, then why are you here? Trolls will NOT be tolerated no matter who you are. Constructive answers are the best. Yes, we all sometimes get off topic, but try to keep it to a minimum, please.
Recruiters are busy working in the real world. There are only a few Marines on recruiting duty or with recruiting experience that frequent this forum. If your question can only be answered by a Marine who is fully aware of current policies, you’ll have to pick up a phone or visit an office.
Correct! Visiting these days is the preferred method. Furthermore, showing up here to cry about a recruiter 'lying' to you, 'not helping' you enlist because you have 7 felony convictions and 3 illicit children, a GED and you REALLY, REALLY want to, will be met with swift and efficient extraction from the site. No one has a 'right' to enlist into the Marine Corps (or any other service). Recruiting these days is likely easier than it's been in a decade or more, because EVERYONE wants to enlist. The Marine Corps is 'full' and actually overstrength. Waivers aren't being granted for much, and at present, a GED requires not only a waiver, but 15 college credits before a recruiter will even THINK about putting in for one. In other words, if you were rejected due to criminal or drug reasons, there is nothing anyone here can do for you. That's just the way it is. Man up and deal with it.
There are no doctors frequenting this website. If you have a medical question that hasn’t already been answered by searching the forums, you’ll have to contact a recruiting office. If they cannot answer your question, you may be directed to a medical representative from MEPS.
Again, read that one carefully. We are Marines (and a few Corpsman). We are not doctors. Medical questions will usually be answered by someone cutting and pasting a section from the about.com website.
Only Marines will answer posts on this forum. If you haven’t earned the Title, you won’t be allowed to pollute this board with silly opinion and conjecture. (If you are a Marine and are having difficulty posting here, please send an administrator a message. There may be something wrong with your account.)
This rule will be STRICTLY enforced. Expect extraction via black helicopters unless you've BTDT. Look at it this way.....you have a question about Brain Surgery, so you go to a Brain Surgery forum and ask it. You are immediately answered by a hospital janitor who says "It's been MY experience".... which is then followed up by the Security Guard who says "I once actually SAW someone get Brain surgery!" Get the picture?
No crying, please. If you are posting here, you must want to be a Marine. If one of our answers hurts your feelings or you feel we are not treating you nicely, you may want to consider a different career. If you cannot handle things said to you on the internet, you will not survive in our Corps. Wal-mart is always accepting applications.
As is Barber college. Paintball and Airsoft teams are always looking for 'quality' applicants as well. Then, there is the Army. Also, Marines who have issues with this and do 'Drive by' responses, who never spend time in this forum answering questions day in and day out, can keep their opines to themselves. Otherwise, they'll be deleted, and that will be that. If there are questions, then read the rules.
Expect respect until you disrespect. Marines follow a tradition of mentorship which is the reason why most of us answer questions here. If we perceive a bad attitude in your correspondence with us, you may become familiar with more of our traditions, hostility and belligerence. Don’t go away mad. Just go away. The site administrators will expedite your departure.
It's called "Being extracted by Black Helicopter". Rest assured, they do exist, and they are manned by Leprechaun minions who take great pleasure in removing you to the nether regions of lesser sites. Again, there's always Barber College.
Why argue? Even if done respectfully, there is no point in expressing rebuttals or contrary opinions to our responses. If we are wrong, another Marine will correct us if necessary. We understand that things change and we can occasionally learn things. However, unless you’re a Marine and BTDT, your input doesn’t carry much weight with us. As one of our brothers said “arguing on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics; you may win, but you’re still retarded.”
Remember, you are a GUEST here. Until you earn that title, a GUEST you shall remain. Guests can be escorted out. Marines, if you are correcting another Marine (because we all occassionally slip up) do so TACTFULLY and RESPECTFULLY. If it's something that you feel requires some sort of 'barking/bellowing' action, either take it to the PM's or advise a moderator. Either way, Disrespecting a fellow Marine will bring fire onto your position no matter how 'right' you are.
Last thing before you post: You sure you did a search?
There is a little box located in each forum, and one at approximately the 1155 position on the screen. Use them. They will help you. If it's an old topic (a year or more) you might want to ask a question about it anyway, PLEASE tell us that you found it, and wanted to know if the information is still correct. Things change and we want to give you the best information we possibly can give you. Again, though, sometimes it's best to simply ASK THE RECRUITER.
Again....check the rules before you post:

Bump.
Yes, for those wondering...there is, in fact, a curfew. High school students should NOT be on these forums, either posting or in 'chat', at 03 something on a weekday!!!
Unsat. Totally and completely.
I don't care WHAT your parents allow, or don't. If you are supposed to be in school, then you need your SLEEP.
Let me catch a poolee here (and if you have an incomplete profile, I will make the assumption that you are, in fact, underage and act accordingly~!!) after 2300 on a school night....
First time, you'll get a week in the box. Repeated violations will get you tossed out of here forever.
Try me and see what happens.

Time to BUMP this thread again!!!
There have been quite a few poolees who have been posting with incomplete profiles. Before you make your next post, fill out ALL of your profile, or you'll find yourself on a short vacation away from Leatherneck.
