[Poolee Rules] Attention New Poolee & Wannabe Members
Welcome aboard Leatherneck.com, its important that you be advised that we have rules here that will best help you prepare to enter one of the two MCRD's. Your failure to comply with any of them will get you in trouble.
Rule One you are not a Marine and this is a Marine site therefore you have no rights and are merely a guest that we wish to help achieve your goal!
Rule Two before you post a thread make darn sure that you have researched the forums so that you are not embarrassed by the fact it was asked a week ago!
Rule Three when using the words Marine or Corps on this site they will be capitalized at all times!
Rule Four make sure that you have a completed profile less than that is unsat and will get you banned for a period up to and including permanently!
Rule Five be courteous at all times with your peers and especially with Marines, if you verbally attack someone you will be dealt with severely and disrespect to a Marine will not be tolerated!
Rule Six never use the words Semper Fi, Semper Fidelis or OORAH you do not rate that here until you have earned the title of United States Marine!
Rule Seven the forums are not social a chatroom if you want to speak to a peer in that way do it on PM or by email or in the chatroom!
Rule Eight when you post make sure that it looks like you are submitting it to your english teacher for their determination whether you pass or fail!
Rule Nine make sure when you post a thread its in the proper forum, you do not rate to post in a Marine forum at any time prior to earning the title. Read the headings over the recruit forums for a guide!
Rule Ten there will no political threads or posts of any kind in the recruit forums, you are here to concentrate on the yellow foot steps not politics!
Rule Eleven be ready and flexible to accept any and all new rules and criticism at all times. Use your time here to prepare yourself for the greatest challenge you will ever face!
Rule Twelve your profile must include your ship date. This is to validate you against some wannabe that calls him or her self a Poolee. Only Poolees have ship dates not wannabes.
Im including some recent links for rules that back these up below. I am also including a Drill Instructors thread of a list of what you may take to MCRD when you ship anything more is unacceptable! As you can see it is a very specific yet there are five pages of of questions again that is unacceptable. If you cant make it here you will not be able to survive recruit training.

Never refer to recruit training as basic training. There's nothing basic when refering to a Marine, or recruit training. Everything in the Marine Corps is advanced, not basic. Stop saying basic!!! It is to be refered to as recruit training, or boot camp.

The Marine Corps cares very much about IT'S rules and if you cannot or will not follow the rules you will NEVER earn the title of "UNITED STATES MARINE"
Our purpose here is to teach lessons and give you an idea of what to expect when you finally get to Boot Camp and help you get through without too much difficulty. If you think this is a joke, it is not. This is the most serious undertaking of your life because failure to complete this undertaking properly is to place yourself and others in jeapordy of your lives.

07-16-07, 05:34 PM #10I have corrected most of yours in this post! Poolee, don't throw stones if you live in a glass house! There are two things for you, as a Poolee, to remember;

Any questions, POOLEE?

Nate...Nate.....Nate.......sigh.......read this again:
http://www.leatherneck.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=29048
We don't "give you orders", we don't have you "fall out into ranks and march you", we don't do those kinds of things, this is the internet, hell you could be cheating on us, LMAO!
That link is our site rules for poolees, you agreed to them when you joined, right? Or did you even read them? If not I suggest you do, it can save a lot of hassles!
In a nut shell, you (as a poolee) can ask anything you want, after you do a search of the forums first. We will answer you. We might be a little less than friendly, but we will answer them! statistcally speaking 99% of all questions asked by poolees have been asked before, therefore a search should find something on the subject! We don't get upset if you don't call us "SIR" or "Ma'am", just as long as you use our rank (unless we tell you it's ok to use our name)!
You just have to remember that the owners of this site have created these rules for a reason, and we don't question rules or policy! We either accept them and remain on the site or we don't and leave! It's as simple as that! This site is open to anyone and everyone that heeds the rules.
You have been here long enough to understand that we Marines stick together. So if you offend one, you get us ALL ill with you. That would be like taking a knife to a gunfight........you can't win!
My advice to all poolees/wannabees/Marine friends that read this, follow the rules and we are all happy campers! Violate them and you got hell on your hands! So relax, use the search button, use the poolee chat on Sunday evenings, get all the information you can. When you feel like posting a reply, or start a new thread, write it down, read it.....re read it, edit it, then think to yourself "will this pizz of the Marines?" You guys have no idea how many times we have people ask the very same questions about the very same topic....why? Because they don't use the search button!
We are here to help you.....not hold your hand! If you think some of us old Salts are mean, wait until you meet your Drill Instructors! Yet they are the very best NCOs you will ever have, during your stay in the Corps!
Sorry for the long post, I just felt in a good mood his morning!
Charge on new people,
Dave

As posted in other threads, there are really only two rules to be safe on this site.
1) The Marines on this site are always right! Without exception!
2) If a Marine is wrong, see rule #1!
If you follow the above rules while on this site, you will learn a lot about our beloved Corps, If you want to dishonor or disrespect any Marines, then don't bother to log in......we don't have time to waste on people that "know it all" and does whatever he likes "because he can"! You **** off one Marine and you have 10 in your face in a hurry. We watch each others back 24/7/365!
