    Church during Boot

ok, so hubby and I watched "Making Marines" dvd last night about Parris Island, and one of the recruits is saying that on Sundays, recruits get 4 hours free, and then 30 mins at night free, excpet that if you go to church then you only get 30 mins at night. does that mean church is 4 hours long?

No. If I remember right, on sudays, you get some free time in the morning to square away your uniforms, i.e; washing/ironing them, writing letters, cleaning your rifle, ect. as well as going to church, which, depending on your denomination, lasts about an hour.

It was kindof mandatory when I was a recruit in 1989. Very few were allowed to not attend any service. It lasted about 1 hour out of the 4 you had to yourself on Sundays.
