    History question....

Q.) What is the only flag authorized to fly above the United States national ensign on a naval vessel ? And it's not the Mexican one either!

Is this for poolees only or can anyone take a stab at it?

  3. #3
    Is it the church flag?

The church pennant and the Jewish worship pennant are the only two flags that ever fly above the national ensign.

    Correct !

No flag or pennant may be flown above or, if on the same level, to the right of our national flag. One exception is the display of flags at the United Nations headquarters, where special rules apply. The only other exception is during church services aboard ship conducted by Navy chaplains or visiting church dignitaries. Then the church pennant or the Jewish worship pennant is flown above the ensign. Many ships are fitted with two halyards to the same point of hoist at both the staff and gaff to permit d i s p l a y o f t h e c h u r c p e n n a n t a n d e n s i g n simultaneously. Aboard ships under way, the church pennant is displayed by hoisting it to the peak or truck and then dipping the ensign just clear of it. If services are being conducted.

Ah man, I can't resist - You gotta specifically direct this question to Lorix.

Just from the last response I am guessing that asking Lorix is probably not a good idea.

I'll jump in on this one (cause I don't mind).............BAM stands for Broad Ass Marine - which fits because my ass is broader than the guys'.

That's what i figured it meant but was not sure.
And I was not stupid enough to start a fight with Lorix. Sorry
