    NBC Warfare

What do NBC Marines do when they are not busy gasing recruits and doing training exercises? I don't see the practical application for it elsewhere, can somebody please elaborate for me.

They run gas chambers for Marines- everyone has to go once a year. They maintain equipment, they learn, and they stay prepared for a possible conflict where NBC is an issue. In all honesty, they did seem to have a lot of free time.

You will train train train. You are never to smart for chemical warfare. That is a good MOS and it will get you into all kind of places and you will get a good bonse if you stay in also.

Once I hit the fleet, is there anyway that I could train as an NBC warfare specialist as a secondary MOS? It sounds interesting; beyond expanding my skils would having this as a secondary mos would this entitle me to a reinlistment bonus. My primary MOS is going to be 0200/2600.

Usually a secondary MOS is related to your first. For example, I was a 2532 with a secondary of 2531 (now 0622/0621). Then there are secondary MOSs like PMI where you will perform that job. There may be a way you could get a FAP to NBC, but I doubt they would let you OJT into the MOS since they go in the chamber with real gas and not just CS as a part of their training.

"There may be a way you could get a FAP to NBC, but I doubt they would let you OJT into the MOS since they go in the chamber with real gas and not just CS as a part of their training." I do not understand this last part, can you please rephrase it?

Sorry. FAP is fleet assistance program. Some MOSs aren't usually full to capacity, so units send people to do those jobs. We usually had someone on a FAP to the armory to help the armorers, one on the range to coach, and sometimes one at the pool. OJT is on the job training. Sometimes you can officially get an MOS by working in that MOS. I doubt they would do that with NBC because in the NBC MOS school you go into a gas chamber that have lethal gasses, not just the CS tear gas that everyone gets in training.

i was fapd to NBC it sux.... sorry you NBC Marines on here but you count gas masks all day and are stuck in a warehouse. They do training excersizes where they teach you how to decon a plane(since im an airwinger). To be honest it seems like you get to play with checal weapons when all you get stuck with is showing clips of movies from 1950. Although the one where they gave nerve agent to the goat was pretty cool, it's not as fun as i thought it would be.
