7234 Air Control Electronics Operator Question

I went in with a 7200 contract, hoping to get Air Traffic Controller. Instead I got Air Control Electronics Operator, just got out of Boot Camp. Now I'm trying to find out what it is I'm going to be doing. I've been to the about.com website where all the MOS's are listed and it's not making sense. I've talked to my recruiter and he said I'd be involved with Landing Zones for helicopters and that I do everything an Air Traffic Controller does and more. Is there any truth to this? If possible could someone break it down in laymen's terms what it is I'm going to be doing?

Does this mean I still get some time in the tower like an Air Traffic Controller?
