    "Show A Leg"

    The term 'show a leg' as used in the RN and Royal Marines is derived from the days of sail,and from the days when women were allowed to remain onboard,since females were exempt from turning out first thing in the morning,this call was made to check that the occupant of a hammock really was a woman entitled to enjoy the priviledge of lying in for a extra half hour.
    To bad if your Mrs had hairy legs??
