Need help in selecting a MOS

I'm having trouble figuring out which MOS would interest me. I know that they are dependent on the scores I get in the ASVAB.

What I'm really interested in doing is aviation. I want to be able to actually fly a helicopter or other aircrafts, be it for a mission or transportation. I know that the duties of the lower few ranks are few. Can anybody help me decide? Which MOS would enable me to do that, or could eventually lead me to aerial duty?

Well... Aviation Fire Crash Rescue specialist is an Air Wing job. It is a firefighter/ems kind of job, but I don't think it will help you get into a cockpit though. The # of the job is 7051.

Here is a website i looked up the job info on http://usmilitary.about.com/library/milinfo/marineenjobs/bl7051.htm .

Good luck on looking for MOS.

If you want to be a Marine Aviator, you need to get your degree. You can still be a crewmember. My two MOS's are 1371 & 8151

Marine Artillery works closely with the air wing on time on target missions, so you might consider becoming an '08

by becomming an 0800 you could get into being an fo. and might be able to work your way up.

    Hey Jellyfish

One of my cousins were helping me deside on a MOS, but I took what I could fall back on If I desided not to go career. He was telling me some thing about a Warrent Officer I don't know I kinda blanked out cause he is a St Sgt in the Army and he likes giving my heck for going to the Marines. Take you time get your ASVAB scores and deside from there.

    Ooorah, and good luck.

i myself thought about going warrent officer why i was in. all i can tell you about warrent officer is that you have to be atleast a Sgt and have ( if i'm not mistaking ) 10 years in before you can go warrent officer.

Kinda makes you wonder if some of these people actually served in our Beloved CORPS.

Well Poolee_Guide is right. It would be a wse decision to choose an MOS that you can use as a fallback job later. I mean you NEVER know it may come in handy later.
