    Math for Marines

Not enough to do today I guess---lol--- So I came up with this.

Part of the solution has been hammered into your mind during boot camp. This should be easy.

A Drill Instructor must get his recruits to the chow hall at 0600 hrs.

The chow hall is the length of a football field away.

What time must he move them out, (marching at quick time) to arrive at the chow hall as scheduled?

I'm going to improvise, adapt and overcome and say 15 minutes prior, because that's what my DI's did. So I say 05:45?

I'm probably wrong, but at least I tried right?

Yes, you tried---lol. No, that not right either, but don't give up.

Qiuck time is 120 steps per minute (spm)

    each step is 30 inchs

    Multiply120 spm x 30 in = 3600 in/pm

12 inches in a foot, so Divide 3600 by 12 to come up with 30 fpm

A football feild is 120 yards

Multiply 120 x 3 to come up with the feet, which is 360 feet

    Divide 360 feet / 30 fpm = 12 min

Subtract 12 min from 0600 and come up with 0548.

    so that's my answer, 0548

Hahaha! CPLRapoza, you used your GI Bill didn't you? That would've taken me all day to figure out. I'd have had to dig out my green monster to figure the step count again and then got drunk cause I couldn't figure it out. Cool info though.
