That's a good one from the Rush Limbaugh collection. But you got to take Limbaugh with a grain of salt:

From the June 17 broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: The [9-11 Commission] report said that Mohamed Atta did meet with an Iraqi Intelligence Agency, or agent, in Prague on April 9th of 2001. We've known this for a long time.

From the 9-11 Commission "Staff Statement 16":
We have examined the allegation that Atta met with an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague on April 9. Based on the evidence available -- including investigation by Czech and U.S. authorities plus detainee reporting -- we do not believe that such a meeting occurred.

I've learned (as I am sure President Bush has, too) is that we're not going to be able to go with what his people are saying without question or doubt. President Bush is a great man with a good plan. Unfortunately, he should have cleaned house when he took office and replaced all of the Clinton appointees at the CIA, FBI, etc. They have seriously made him look like crap.

Rush demonstrates is last name with everything he comments on. He "rushed" to make his points based on faulty intelligence or preliminary intelligence.

For conservatives, they find nothing wrong with making a few intelligence mistakes as the result would have been the same.

For liberals, they find nothing wrong with cheating on your wife and getting a BJ in the oval office and then lying about it to the world.

Conservatives argue that if the liberal administration before it would have been taking care of Osama instead of chasing interns, we wouldn't have had September 11th.

Liberals argue that we have had a September 11th every year and that we should blame the Gregorians (who were conservative) for putting September 11th on the calendar in the first place. And then we should go after the calendar makers for continue to spread such an awful day.

The point is for everyone - that was then, this is now.

    Shoulda - Woulda - Coulda

P.S. - I still think that book cover is funny!

Not a Rush collection, I thought it myself and cut and pasted it myself when I saw the book cover....

Rush Limbaugh, is too far too the left for me. LMAO

You need to read what they said"

That other meetings occurred elsewhere, is not addressed and that Saddam gave santuary to terrorist involved in the 9-11 plot is also not addressed because it was not within the perimeters of what they were looking for, in this investigation. You can bet that Al Qaeda-linked terrorist cells didn't all of a sudden show up in Iraq after we decided to go after Saddam.

957 pages not enough to tell entire Clinton story

    June 22, 2004

    BY RICHARD ROEPER SUN-TIMES COLUMNIST

'I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky." -- Bill Clinton, wagging his finger at us in 1998. "I think I did something for the worst possible reason -- because I could." -- Bill Clinton, hawking his book in 2004.

"Sorry ... we're hibernating while designing for next season. No one home in customer service either." -- Message on handbag designer Monica Lewinsky's Web site.

William Jefferson Clinton's long-awaited, 957-page autobiography, My Life, lands with a gigantic thud in bookstores today, and I think he might even be doing some publicity to promote the book. It's already perched at No. 1 on the amazon.com list -- with the abridged version at No. 7 and the large-print version at No. 8.

This is sure to be the one summer book that just about everybody buys and just about nobody actually reads from cover to cover. You're going to be slogging through My Life, trying to be a good, informed citizen, but the new David Sedaris collection is going to be tempting you like a thong-snapping intern.

I mean, come on. Is the average, time-strapped, hardworking citizen really going to work through nearly 1,000 pages of Clintonian self-indulgence -- including hundreds and hundreds of pre-presidency anecdotes? How many riveting details about trailer trash life in Arkansas, non-inhaling adventures in Oxford and gubernatorial elections do we really need?

Unless there's some Penthouse Forum quality stuff in there about Gennifer Flowers and Elizabeth Ward Gracen ("Dear Penthouse, I never thought a guy like me could have a one-night stand with a former Miss America, but it really happened!"), a lot of readers are going to skip over page after page to get to the non-drowsy stuff.

As Michiko Kakutani put it in her scathing review in the New York Times: "The book ... is sloppy, self-indulgent and often eye-crossingly dull.... 'My Life' reads like a messy pastiche of everything Clinton ever remembered and wanted to set down in print. ... There are endless litanies of meals eaten, speeches delivered, voters greeted and turkeys pardoned ... tedious descriptions of long-ago political debates in Arkansas over utility regulation and car license fees ..."

And if you've ever created a messy pastiche, you know how hard it is to clean it up.

My Life -- the director's cut

As I've done with dozens of newsmaking books over the years, I will be your personal Achilles on this one, charging in first, reading My Life in its entirety and letting you know if there's something that hasn't been covered to death in Time or Newsweek or in Clinton's interviews with Dan Rather and Oprah and Larry King and Ryan Seacrest. (Just kidding about the latter. I think.)

In the meantime, I'd like to share some of the "deleted scenes" that didn't make the final book.

According to some reports, the original version of My Life was even meatier than the final, Chicago phone-book sized tome. Clinton reportedly was 800 pages into the first draft and he still hadn't made it to his first inauguration.

That means a lot of stuff wound up on the cutting room floor.

And that got me to wondering: what if Billy C. had written the book in journal form, sharing his innermost thoughts and feelings?

That would be a juicy read. And it might go ... something ... like this.

    The unexpurgated Clinton

Aug. 19, 1946. "I was born today. The nurse was hot!"

Aug. 21, 1946. "Went home today. Got the nurse's number."

March 6, 1952. "There's a television set in the window at Jimmy Joe's Hardware. I saw this show called 'I Love Lucy.' She's OK, but Ethel is hot! Forget Lucy, I love Ethel!"

Sept. 7, 1953. "First day of school. My teacher is hot!"

Nov. 19, 1957. "I made out with Sally during the 'Duck and Cover' drill. When some other kids told the teacher I kissed Sally, I looked everyone straight in the eye and said, 'I want you to listen to me. I did not have kissing relations with that girl, Sally.' They fell for it!"

July 24, 1963. "Today I was in Washington, D.C., and I shook hands with President John F. Kennedy in the Rose Garden of the White House! I've decided that I am going to emulate every facet of President Kennedy's life, professionally and personally. Whatever he has done, I will do."

Oct. 14, 1969. "And it's one, two, three what are we fighting for, don't ask me I don't give a damn, next stop is Vietnam...

    "Yeah right!"

Oct. 11, 1975. "Today I married the beautiful and sweet Hillary Rodham, who assures me she has no political ambitions of her own and will always stand by her man, just like Tammy Wynette. It just occurred to me -- I'll never be with another woman again. Oh well, no big deal.

"A new TV show debuted today. It's called 'Saturday Night Live.' Very funny but scathing! Boy, I'd hate to do anything that would cause them to make fun of me."

And that would be just the first 100 pages.

Note: A technical glitch created a couple of minor bumps in Monday's column. The original version is on the Sun-Times Web site.

It should be kept under the counter, and not sold at all. This pr@#k has made a mockery of that office. Just the same as Ted Kennedy has of his office. I sure ain't no Saint but these bastards need to be run out of this Country.

    The missing Clinton women
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    By Jerry Seper
    THE WASHINGTON TIMES
    June 24, 2004

Bill Clinton calls his sexual encounters with White House intern Monica Lewinsky "immoral and foolish" and said his "relationship" with Gennifer Flowers was one he "should not have had." But in his autobiography flying out of bookstores, he doesn't mention several other women whose names were linked in scandal with his.

Mr. Clinton denied conducting affairs with Miss Lewinsky and Miss Flowers when news of them first surfaced, but he writes in his 957-page autobiography, "My Life," that now he is "deeply ashamed" of what he had done and lied about it because he was "trying to protect my family and myself from my selfish stupidity."

The former president gives no details on his relationships with Miss Lewinsky — nothing about a blue dress or a cigar — or with Miss Flowers, other than to say that he wanted to "slug" reporter Steve Croft of the CBS-TV program "60 Minutes" when Mr. Croft pressed him about it in the "Stand by Her Man" Super Bowl interview.

He is less forthcoming about, or does not mention, other women who say they were either sexually involved with him, or that they had been sexually harassed or assaulted. These include:
Dolly Kyle Browning, a real estate lawyer and Clinton high school classmate who said she had an off-and-on-again romance with Mr. Clinton for 30 years.
Sally Perdue, a former Miss Arkansas who said she had a four-month affair with him in 1983.
Connie Hamzy, a self-proclaimed rock-and-roll groupie, who said Mr. Clinton propositioned her in 1984 while she was sunbathing by a Little Rock hotel pool.
Juanita Broaddrick, a gubernatorial campaign volunteer who said Mr. Clinton raped her during a nursing-home-operators convention in Little Rock in April 1978.
Bobbie Ann Williams, a one-time Little Rock prostitute who said Mr. Clinton fathered a child by her when he was the governor of Arkansas.
Eileen Wellstone, an English woman who said Mr. Clinton sexually assaulted her after she met him at a pub near Oxford University where Mr. Clinton was a student in 1969.
Sandra Allen James, a former Washington, D.C., political fund-raiser who said Mr. Clinton invited her to his hotel room during a 1991 campaign trip, pinned her against the wall and put his hand under her dress.
Christy Zercher, an airline flight attendant on Mr. Clinton's 1992 campaign plane, who said Mr. Clinton exposed himself and grabbed her breasts.
Lencola Sullivan, a former Miss Arkansas and fourth runner-up in the Miss America pageant.
Elizabeth Ward, a former Miss Arkansas and Miss America.
Susie Whitacre, press aide to Mr. Clinton when he was governor.
Several of the women were identified in a lawsuit filed by Larry Nichols, a one-time Arkansas state employee, as having had affairs with Mr. Clinton.

Mr. Clinton describes as a "liar" Kathleen Willey, a one-time White House aide, who accused him of groping her during a November 1993 interview at the White House when, she testified under oath in federal court, Mr. Clinton was "very forceful" in the unwanted sexual advance — kissing her on the mouth, touching her breasts and putting his hands under her dress.

He writes that her "sad tale" was part of a conspiracy by conservatives, including Whitewater independent counsel Kenneth W. Starr, to "discredit me and impair my ability so serve."

Mrs. Willey had applied to get back her job at the White House, citing financial problems. She learned later that her husband killed himself on the day of the meeting, citing mounting debts. Mr. Clinton does not say why he was interviewing an applicant for an assistant's position in the Office of Social Secretary, a relatively low-level position.

Mr. Clinton describes Paula Jones, a former Arkansas state employee who said she was escorted in 1991 to a Little Rock hotel room by Arkansas state troopers, where Mr. Clinton exposed himself and asked her to "kiss it," as a political opportunist.

He writes that he agreed to pay Mrs. Jones an $850,000 settlement in a pending lawsuit, so he could get "back to work" for the American people.

"I settled the Paula Jones case for a large amount of money and no apology," he writes. "I hated to do it because I had won a clear victory on the law and the facts in a politically motivated case. But I had promised the American people I would spend the next two years working for them; I had no business spending five more minutes on the Jones case."

At the time of the November 1998 settlement, Mr. Clinton and his attorneys had spent more than four years contesting the Jones suit. Mr. Clinton writes that as a result of the lengthy Jones case he had an opportunity to spend "two to three hours alone in my office," where he read the Bible and books on faith and forgiveness.

"I had had a lot of stones cast at me, and through my own self-inflicted wounds, I had been exposed to the whole world," he writes. In some ways, it was liberating; I had nothing more to hide," he writes. "Whatever the motives of my adversaries, it became clear on those solitary nights ... that if I wanted compassion from others, I needed to show it."

Mr. Clinton writes that he is not angry at adversaries who raised questions about his conduct, made unsupported accusations or sought to damage his presidency.

"Becoming a good person is a lifelong effort that requires letting go of anger at others and holding on to responsibility for the mistakes I've made," he says. "And it requires forgiveness.

"After all the forgiveness I've been given from Hillary, Chelsea, my friends and millions of people in America and across the world, it's the least I can do."
