Horn was an engineer equipment operator assigned to Combat Service Support Group 11, 1st Force Service Support Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton. He joined the Marines on June 3, 2003. His personal awards included the National Defense Service Medal, according to a spokesman at Camp Pendleton.
