Hard on the heels of the Sept. 11 observances and new security alerts, the Marines are coming to Dayton.

Approximately 600 members of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit from Camp Lejeune, N.C., will arrive Saturday at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Capt. James Jarvis said Tuesday.

After a "media day" on Sunday to publicize their arrival, the Marines will conduct a series of mock assaults on pre-selected urban sites around the area over the next two weeks, he said.
