Critical Race Theory.......Stupidity at it's Finest.....
America is up in arms about critical race theory in public schools. Lawmakers in California and school districts in Washington and Oregon have introduced or mandated aspects of critical race theory in the curriculum; lawmakers in Texas, Idaho, Oklahoma and, most recently, Florida have passed legislation prohibiting teachers from promoting critical race theory in the classroom.
But despite all of the furor surrounding these bills, many Americans still do not have a firm grasp of what critical race theory is and how it manifests in public schools. I’m a senior fellow with the public policy think tank the Manhattan Institute and have recently completed a multipart investigative series about critical race theory in public schools – and what I discovered shocked me to the core. Critical race theory: What is it and why do Republicans oppose teaching it in schools? What is critical race theory?
First, a definition: Critical race theory is an academic discipline that claims that the United States was founded on racism, oppression and white supremacy – and that these forces are still at the root of our society. Some supporters of critical race theory claim it is merely a "lens," arguing that "race is a social construct" and that racism is "systemic" not individual, but this is a strategic retreat that fails to grapple with some of the theory's more controversial concepts.
Critical race theory reformulates the old Marxist dialectic of oppressor and oppressed, replacing the class categories of bourgeoisie and proletariat with the identity categories of white and Black. But the basic conclusion is the same: In order to liberate man, society must be fundamentally transformed through moral, economic and political revolution. In simple terms, critical race theory can be seen as a form of “race-based Marxism"; they share a common conceptual framework. Critical race theory was derived from “critical theory,” a 20th century ideology sometimes called “neo-Marxism.” Critical race theory in schools
To the surprise of many Americans, this basic package of ideas has become part of the curriculum in some school districts across the country. The resulting lessons I’ve discovered through my reporting are deeply divisive and I believe border on political indoctrination:
►In Cupertino, California, an elementary school forced third-graders to deconstruct their racial and sexual identities, then rank themselves according to their “power and privilege.”
A rally against critical race theory in Leesburg, Va., on June 12, 2021. ►In Springfield, Missouri, a middle school forced teachers in a diversity training session to locate themselves on an “oppression matrix.” The trainers told straight, white, English-speaking, Christian males that they are members of the oppressor class and handouts warned of “covert white supremacy.”
►In New York City, a public school principal sent parents literature including "tools for action" and touting “white traitors” and advocating for full “white abolition.”
►And in Portland, Oregon, my investigation found that students are not only subjected to a critical race theory curriculum, but also trained to develop their so-called white identity and are taught about racial justice in the terms of "revolution and/or resistance." In practice, critical race theory in schools is a form of state-sanctioned racism. The lessons traffic in three key concepts: race essentialism, collective guilt and racial superiority theory.
First, these lessons primarily reduce individual students to the racial categories of “white,” “Black” and “people of color,” which are then loaded with value connotations – “white” students are labeled “oppressors,” while “Black” students are labeled “oppressed.” Don't embrace false equivalents: Racial equity is important, but it doesn't trump the right to excel
Next, this framework teaches students to think that they bear responsibility for and are the beneficiaries of historical crimes committed by individuals who shared the same skin color; consequently, they must atone for their “white privilege." Critical race theorists in practice sometimes refer to this as "internalized racial superiority" within white people.
Books for the classroom are a gift that teachers and students can enjoy for years to come. Finally, critical race theory ascribes a moral superiority to individuals based on their race – whites are deemed inherently racist and oppressive because, as a Buffalo Public Schools lesson phrased it, "all white people play a part in perpetuating systemic racism"; people of color, by contrast, are deemed by this theory inherently virtuous and liberatory. State legislatures, worried that children will be indoctrinated into this destructive ideology, are absolutely right to prohibit these lessons in public schools. Critical race theorists have the right to express their beliefs as individuals, but taxpayers are not obligated to subsidize their beliefs and incorporate them in the school curriculum.

First, they protect students’ and teachers’ First Amendment right of conscience – they cannot be compelled to believe in racial theories that violate their sense of basic dignity. Second, they uphold the basic premise of the 14th Amendment, which guarantees that individuals must be treated equally under the law, regardless of race. Third, the legislation ensures that a state’s public institutions reflect the values of the public – in a representative democracy, voters decide which values to transmit through public schools, and legislators have the right, even the duty, to shape the curriculum to those ends. Ultimately, the beauty of the state legislation is that it is politically neutral. The legislation in Texas, for instance, prohibits schools from requiring or making part of a course the ideas that any race is “inherently superior to another,” that an individual “bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race,” or that an individual should “receive adverse treatment solely or partly because of his or her race.” The bills would outlaw a Ku Klux Klan-sponsored curriculum as well as a CRT-sponsored curriculum.
Liberals, moderates and conservatives should unite behind this simple proposition: Public schools should not promote state-sanctioned racism, no matter the intention and no matter the target. Americans of all backgrounds should support this legislation – and ask why, after decades of progress, some political factions want to drag the country back into the ugly politics of racial division.
A few years ago we had a discussion here regarding how many of us here were being branded as haters simply because we are white. If I remember correctly, we were labeled woman haters, queer haters, race haters, white extremists, etc. We were just all around haters.
What I have a problem with this crt bullshivt is that we are now being told that we are mainly race haters. I object to this as I identify as one of the all around haters. I reject the idea that I am a stronger race hater than I am a woman hater, queer hater, etc. I am simply a hater in all of these fields, it's unfair to many of us to focus on one area more than any of the others. I am an AAH (All Around Hater) with no area stronger than any other. Just saying.

I didn't even know that some people was black. I saw my first black person at 12 years old. However, for some reason, radicals say I was born racist. My family never had any interactions with black people because we were never around them. I was in the 10th grade, (which is as far as I got), when blacks started going to White schools. Where I lived we never had a problem with that. Thing is....White people aren't born racist anymore than gay people are born gay. We all have "Free Will"...you are what you make yourself. I for one think that schools should teach that a person is not responsible for the actions of others. If the blacks say we are responsible for slavery, then when one member of a black family kills a person or commits robbery, we need to prosecute the whole damn family and every black in the neighborhood. just saying....
Russ, I started going to "CRT Anonymous". I used to be an AAH like you. But, I now realize that I'm partly the cause that some White people had black slaves 160 years ago. I walk around crying and cursing myself all day long. I can't sleep without vivid nightmares of black people having to pick cotton out of an Aspirin bottle. I shiver when I think of the trauma experienced by blacks when they saw Aunt Jemima on a box of pancake mix.
Brother, just try to have a little compassion for our black neighbors. We will never, ever, ever know the undefinable pain and agony they have suffered because of our Whiteness.....just saying....

Brother Russ, I know you are experienced with Africans, being you worked the projects in Memphis. You know just how tough it is on people with big lips and pubic hair on their head. All black men aren't criminals and all black women aren't Ho's. My black friend Tyrone told me his Mammy knows the names of all 8 of his siblings Daddies. That's commendable for a 21 year old black Woman. Tyrone told me his Mammy is always saying......no black Mother should be in fear for her sons life every time he robs a Liquor Store. I guess what I'm trying to say is.....when you condemn the black life-style, think about Tyrone and his Mammy and the ever day turmoil they go through. Tyrone said it's pure hell trying to find a place to rob that wasn't robbed yesterday......
CRT is just what it is, Theory. Nothing fact about it, if they want it taught then teach it at a university or something. Let people make up their own minds if they want to waste their money and credits on it. Same for the 1619 project.
"Critical Race Theory" is going to be the NEW "Darwinism" if the libs have anything to say about it, turning CRT into a "court case with NATIONAL prominence" is the goal to give it so much "exposure" will ingrain it into everyone's mind for years to come... CRT is nothing more than racism and bigotry on a national scale, aimed at "reversing the roles" of history and making WHITES the SLAVES of BLACKS in order to "atone" for the "injustices" of the past... I'm with Russ, I hate everything and everyone the same, there are no "preferences" for hatred in my world... however, I do not intend to "sell white people to blacks" as the African Blacks did to their brethren, even though heaven knows that there are some whites that SHOULD be sold to SOMEONE that has some common sense, because they are too stupid to breathe without instructions....
As I read ya'lls posts, I hear a lot of insecurity. More often than not, many people hate what they cannot be. Take William for an example. He knows he can't be black, so what does he do??.........he lives in a State that has no Counties, it has Tribes. William lives in the Hump-A-Ho part of Louisiana. That way he can constantly be close to his Fantasy and have an abundance of issues to ***** about. I ask each of you to look very close at your Brothers posts and read between the lines. Anger and resentment are many times the result of acute Jealousy.........just saying.....
