Transgender Woman Crowned Miss Nevada USA, Becomes First in Pageant History: 'My Win Is Our Win'

History was made for the LGBTQ community in Nevada over the weekend.
On Sunday, Kataluna Enriquez beat out 21 other contestants to win the crown of Miss Nevada USA. With the title, Enriquez, 27, becomes the first transgender woman to win a competition in pageant history.
"Congratulations to our new Miss Nevada USA @mskataluna 👑 History made!" Miss Nevada USA wrote on their Instagram page beside a photo of Enriquez in a rainbow dress with her new crown and sash.
Ahead of Sunday's competition, which was held at South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, Enriquez won the Miss Silver State USA pageant, according to her Instagram.
She will now compete for the Miss USA title in November.

Following her victory, Enriquez celebrated the accomplishment in a post on Instagram Monday.
"Huge thank you to everyone who supported me from day one. My community, you are always in my heart. My win is our win. We just made history. Happy pride," she wrote alongside several rainbow hearts.
Enriquez also posted a photo before winning the crown and revealed that she had made the rainbow gown herself through her clothing line, KatalunaKouture.

In addition to owning KatalunaKouture, Enriquez is a healthcare admin and fashion designer, according to her short bio on Miss Silver State USA's Instagram.
"At a young age, Kataluna fought multiple challenges in her life," the page reads. "Now she uses her life experiences and shares it in her platform #BEVISIBLE, a campaign to combat hate through vulnerability."
"As a survivor of physical and sexual abuse and a proud Transwoman of color, she aims to break barriers and represent those who aren't always represented and continues to support numerous non-profit organizations and LGBTQ+ youth," the post added.
I agree with Mike Billy. Brings back horrible thoughts when I was a vice cop, sometimes we had to go and work the sleazy degenerate queers. Give me the ho's any day.
so true, Russ... this is not only azzinine on an unbelievable scale, it is totally sickening that our nation would endorse such vulgarity... anyone want to bet that this queer will beat out all of the REAL women and be crowned "Miss USA"... all in the name of "national PRIDE" of course, the nation needs to support it's queers, they are such a majority.... trannies should not even be allowed in this pageant, after all it is for "MISS USA", which implies it is for REAL WOMEN, not "remanufactured women"....

Strange enough some local libraries around the country have a 1hr reading story time with trans people. If people want to do this , go at it I don’t care, but forcing it down our throats and exposing this to small children is dangerous. I agree , that this may be some form of mental illness. Biological men should not be competing with woman in pageants or sports . What is this saying to actual woman, that I’m better at being a woman than you even though I’m pretending to be you. What a smack in the face to women.

as a proud member of the "lesbians trapped in a man's body" minority group, I have to take up for Billy on this one, Dave, Billy has come out about as much as anyone could by publicly admitting that he is a lesbian... the only thing more he could possibly do to "come out of the closet" would be to have a public exhibition of him "carpet munching" and then upload it to the internet..... not a recommended action, because it would stir the ire of the TRUE lesbians, thereby bringing down the entire "Hollywood crowd" and their supporters on our group...
William, I think you've hit on something. Now, I'm very much against trans men taking over all the women's sports. But, we could actually follow suite and steal away the fem lessies from their partners. Can't nobody swim upstream like us Marine lesbians. And we all know, we don't stop until we taste that rush. I'm starting today to do my civic duty.
