    • Two of George Floyd's siblings have posted GoFundMe fundraisers asking for help to pay for the family's travel and legal expenses and to support Floyd's children following his death.
    • And the internet has responded. Hundreds of thousands of donors have gifted the family with over $12 million and counting.

The killing of George Floyd by a white Minneapolis police officer who kneeled directly on his neck has angered the US.
The tape that captured the event horrified Floyd's family, his brother Philonise Floyd wrote in a GoFundMe he established six days ago.
Floyd died in Minneapolis, but the family is originally from Houston. Philonise Floyd was hoping to raise $1.5 million to pay for the family's considerable legal and travel expenses as well as to help support and educate Floyd's children. Philonise Floyd says that 100% of the money collected will go to the family and that the GoFundMe is being managed by the family's law firm.
The communications manager from the law firm that set up the fund, Adner Marcelin of Ben Crump Law, confirmed this to Business Insider: "Our office is contingency fee based so fees for our legal services derive for any recovery obtained for the family (i.e. – the civil law suit). The funds raised here were transferred to Mr. Floyd's brother, as stated clearly in the fundraiser. They will be distributed according to his family's wishes," Marcelin said.
The family's lawyer, Ben Crump, has become one of the nation's most recognizeable and prominent civil rights attorney since he represented Trayvon Martin's family in 2012. He is also currently representing Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor.
With the global attention, including a shout-out to the fund by former President Barack Obama, the GoFundMe has quickly ratcheted up into the millions. As of this writing, the fund had raised over $12 million and was still climbing by the minute.
"Our hearts are overwhelmed!" Philonise Floyd wrote in reaction to the over 450,000 donors who had contributed.
At the same time, George Floyd's younger sister, Bridgett Floyd, also launched a GoFundMe campaign. She was hoping to raise $5,000 to help her pay for traveling and other expenses associated with his memorial. That fund had raised over $349,295 and counting as well.

well I see all of the networks are showing this convicted felon's funeral... this virtue signalling is making me sick... are they going to start a go fund me page and show the funeral's of the 77 year old retired police captain that was murdered and left to die in the street by the rioter thugs or the funeral for the children that died in a house fire after the rioters set fire to the home and blocked the fire dept from getting there...?

probably not, it's time to start shooting and let got sort them all out...

how in heaven's name ANYBODY would want to be a police officer in this day and age is totally beyond me.... it seems that "John Q. Public" is more on the side of the criminal than the side of law and order.... it also appears that today's crop of ballless politicians will not even back up the men and women that they put in the front lines to deal with the criminals, instead, they are totally willing to "throw them to the wolves" at the first hint of unrest or at the first accusation of "racist".... and it also seems that there are no lack of prosecutors that are totally willing to get a multiple murderer off with a "plea bargain", yet will CRUCIFY a cop that is accused of wrongdoing, no "plea bargain" allowed..... the time is coming when there will be no volunteers for our police forces, and our nutless politicians will have to stand up alone, or not.....

William, I agree, but what's new? Look how they portrayed us when we came home. As y'all know, when I came home I became a cop in the projects, not much respect there either, but I was never looking for anything but a job at the time.

What really chaped my white asss is that the 4 officers involved in this episode were fired within 15 minutes, without even a hearing. I saw on the news yesterday that one of the officers involved was a brand new rookie, 2 days out in the streets with his training officer. Just throw him in the fire as well. I hope y'all realize that there's a large gap in the videos of this thing - what happened to get ol george on the ground with 3 officers holding him down? I'm sure it will come out though.

when all is said and done, this will most likely turn out to be another "Tayvon Martin or hands up don't shoot" deal..... 99.99% pure, unadulterated BS, where the cops were doing what they were supposed to because 'ol Floyd was fighting them.....

On my earlier post I made a mistake, I said that one of the officers was a rookie with 2 days on the job. My correction is that there were 2 rookie officers with 4 days on the job. Hell, they had no choice but 2 do what their training officers told them. Throw them in the fire, they wear a badge. BS
