A beaner that badly wants to be a Marine.

Well, I'm going to make this simple.

I'm American, not by birth, but by heart, I want to join the USMC.
I'll tell you real fast about me, 22 Years old, level C1 english, fluent spanish and some Russian as well, black belt in Karate, 5,89" and 176 pounds of rock solid latino.
My last ASVAB was 85, 15 unbroken pull ups, can run 3 miles in 16:00 minutes.
I know some, if not most of you, have similar, if not more accomplishments than I do, I'm not saying this to show of, I not ****ing special by any means, I'm an average healthy male.
But I live in Costa Rica, far, FAR FAR from the US, I want to go to America, and join the USMC asap.
Is it possible, under some circumstances, to get a waiver for the lack of a green card?
I'm not asking to be (nor claiming I could be) Marsoc, or some great war hero like Mattis or Chesty Puller. At best I want to be a good happy grunt, do a few tours and then retire in Camden Tennessee with a nice woman and a few ugly kids. (or die for my brothers in arms, either way I'm fine)
I'm desperate, this is what I want.
I could join the French foreign legion, but srsly, **** Europe, I'm running away from a socialist hellhole, I sure wont jump to another one.
I want freedom, liberty, peace and hardwork. Not terrorist attacks and speech laws.
Any experience, any knowledge, ANYTHING, advices, or help is welcome.
My uncle served in the Army, but he went to the green card rout and enlisted at 39, he is crazy. He did two tours several years ago, he is 50 now. And lives in FL, where most likely I could stay in.
I know I have it in me, I'm just begging for someone to give me the chance to prove it.
My mind is on the right place. My determination is set, I will finish my days in the US, and I want to serve, even to the cost of my life or health.

PS: If I come off as arrogant or self aggrandizing in my own description, it is not my intention, after reading it, it does sound like that, but trust me, my ego is beaten to a pulp, and I see myself, just as normal man, hardworking at best, I wanted to preemptively clarify. Cheers.

You will need to obtain a INS Form I-151/551 (green card) prior to enlisting.

It's a good thing you aren't being too ambitious in your MOS choices because most of them will be unavailable for you. Non-citizens can't obtain any security clearances in the U.S. military. Most MOS require a clearance--infantry does not.

Sounds like you're motivated to join the Corps. Do it the right way. Do it legally; join and make a career out of it. If you qualify, and a recruiter will tell you; do it! However; here's my rule that I live by. "A man with words; instead of deeds is like a garden full of weeds" . Right now, all you are to me is words. Good luck to you!

Thanks, I like that phrase, we have a few similar ones in my home country, what are the chances of getting the green card after boot camp?, lets say I earned the title United States Marine, can't the process be expedited?(I guess the latter question might be more appropriate to make to a homeland security or immigration officer)
If you have any recruiter friends ask them, maybe it has happened in the past.
I met a former Marine at work (I work for Delta in the SJO Airport), he told me in his unit there was a African who got his green card after boot camp, mind you it was several years ago.

I also approve of your drive, but this last part you may have mis-heard. Marines do some time get their *citizenship* after boot camp, but as noted already, you need the green card to be able to enlist.

Make an appointment at the US embassy or consulate near you and talk to someone there. That will be the best way to get current, accurate information.

Are you *****ng kidding me? Marines guard the embassy? ._. Geeez that is AWESOME... Had not idea to be honest, well, gotta pick the best for that task.

And to all you guys thanks, I'm making an appointment soon, does not kill to ask, I've seen that yes, in fact citizenship is not permanent residency, that is green card vs naturalization oath and all that jazz, I had no idea there was a difference, then again, If I were smart I would go back to college :,v

I will go there, but if I get the door is closed on me on the embassy, then all I have left is the FFL, not that they are bad per se, but I do want to live and grow old in the US.

Second best is better than my current job.

Best case scenario there could be joined training like there were several years ago, so I might end up meeting some of the young guys in this group eventually, and after my contract I might try to get a contracting or teaching job in the US, that way I can finally get my green card with a EU passport.

Yes. The US Marine Corps is the only organization the US State Department trusts protecting it's diplomatic missions, classified information, and employees abroad. You cannot enlist for that job. The State Department only wants Marines who have had time to demonstrate maturity and integrity in the fleet Marine forces first. Marines have been guarding diplomatic missions abroad since 1948. The Marine detachment only provides internal security so you will not see any Marines outside of the embassy/consulate building. The host Government provides external security.
