Something A Little Different
For a change. Tired of talking about politics and controversy in the Political Section? A long time ago I found several webcams of some waterholes in big game preserves and national parks in Africa. There are 4 now that I look at from time to time, complete with sound and full screen if desired.
This first one is in or near the huge (bigger than Massachusetts) Kruger National Park, in South Africa, on the border with Mozambique. Tembe Elephant Park waterhole attracts many elephants, primarily.

Remember that the time change figures into this. They are 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time, so the optimal time to see elephants (like right now on the screen) is now, between 11am and 3pm their time.

There are 3 other good ones. Let me know if you're interested in seeing them posted on this thread.

I sure will, give me a few minutes here. If there are any children in the house, why take them to a zoo and pay admission, when they can sit by the computer and watch all this stuff live, and for free??
More waterholes coming up.

Djuma watering hole, on a private reserve right next to Kruger National Park. The camera pans all over the place, so be patient.

Again, this one is near Kruger National Park, as I said, it is bigger than Massachusetts, something like eight thousand square miles of wildlife. This website requires you to scroll way down until you come to 3 screens. Click on all of them and see three different nearby locations.

This one is a little different. It is SafariLive, but only TWICE a day does it take you LIVE with a safari guide day or night, in a vehicle. I have no idea what times these live showings occur, though. Not yet, anyway. I'm not even sure what part of Africa this is. But it is not live most of the time, just twice a day.

Those are the other 3 webcams. There is another that I don't have the link to, but it is an active webcam on Pete's Pond, you can look it up and find numerous link to the popular webcam there. This is located in Botswana.
That's all I have for now. The rest of the webcams I saw were all "recorded highlights" of viewings earlier that day or week, but I'm only interested in the live streaming ones.
I'm trying to locate some webcams in Kenya and Tanzania, but not having any luck as of yet. There are plenty of YouTube offerings etc but as I mentioned, I'm looking only for live streaming web cameras.

Mitch, that first one, the Tembe Elephant Park, that is pretty active, and they say lions visit the waterhole, but so far I have seen elephants only, and maybe 10 or 11 at one time.
