    Iwo Jima- my grandfather.

    Hello, got some cool items of my grandfather's from my mom's. Thought they might be appreciated here.
    Got a nice pic with a cool newspaper article from 1945, a theater made knife I cleaned up and a perfect copy of Spearhead book. I'll post pics next. I also have alot of original maybe never seen photos from Iwo Jima.

    The article is titled PFC Shepard crawled ahead into Japan lines. It talks about the 10 man teams of mine detection and demolition engineers that walked/crawled out into no man's land ahead of the tanks and infantry clearing mines and booby traps and blowing up cave entrances. They pushes all the way to the northern coast and it says their survival was a miracle.

    It didn't say Japan, auto correct I guess. , everything in the article said Jap. Different time
