    Really GREAT VFW Post

I am a lifetime member of VFW Post 1948 in Elma, Washington. When my wife and I travel we like to visit the local VFW Posts in the area...if there are any. If you are ever in the San Diego area, we found a TERRIFIC VFW Post. It's in Ramona, California Post 3783...friendly people, a lot of camaraderie, very active in the community, GREAT food, (we had prime rib that was superb) I don't drink, but if you do nice bar. I would highly recommend visiting this Post if you are ever in the area.

My middle son and his wife who were in the Marines (stationed at Miramar) live outside of Ramona, California. My wife loves to go down and visit the grandkids...I can stand California for about a week, mostly in the fall & winter then I want to come home.

Russel, I haven't been in a VFW in 20 years. I used to go in my younger days, but only to drink beer.

Still waiting for Cali to break off from the west coast and sink into the Pacific. Marines are amphibious so they'll be just fine.

    Mongoose....

I'd sure like to think that I'm confident you're not lumping me into the democratic cesspool that California has long been.
It's embarrassing and humiliating to think on.

    TTOP....
I'm a music/geology major....even though it's highly unlikely to occur it may be the only event that purges the political mentality, if it does I hope I'm below dirt by then.

    Carry on Green Marines....

I know California is the left coast...but it's hard to find nicer weather than the San Diego area in the fall & winter.

I don't know.....I went through boot-camp there in the winter. Like to have froze to death. But then again....I live in Texas where our average winter temp is 68.
