    Anglico

Mornin Marines, hope youre all having a good day. I just found out about ANGLICO (Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Companies) and Im very intrigued by what they do (or at least as far as I read up on what they do lol). Ive always wanted to be a Marine in the infantry, logistics, or atry field. And ANGLICO seems like a really nice place to be. I know Im jumping far ahead in the future and all since I dont even have an EGA yet (hopefully that will be a yet) but I saw their ranks are comprised of 08xx and 06xx? is this correct and how would one go about enlisting to get into ANGLICO? I know its a slim chance but id love to be a jump qual. Marine, im a big adrenaline junkie and always loved doing crazy stuff. And hopefully I can add jumping to this list, and even in if I cant jump in the Corps when Im in, ill do it in civi life.

Don't know anymore about ANGLICO than you can find with a GOOGLE search.

Along those same lines, look into the Marine Raiders (special operations forces). Visit their website at www.marsoc.com for eligibility criteria.

    Good luck.

Thank you to you both, sorry I didnt reply yesterday I got very busy. But Top, I have looked into Recon, and MARSOC, I personally dont think Im cut out for them just yet, my plan is to enlist next year and do 4 years with whatever MOS I get, (Hopefully infantry or arty) but if I really enjoy my first enlistment perhaps Ill reenlist and try out for some Spec Ops if I feel I want to pursue that choice and opportunity. But for now my plan is to do 4-6 years, then be a police officer.

And for you Mr.Velasquez, thank you so much for sharing the information. I took the ASVAB already and my GT score is 169 and I meet the other prereqs. besides having the security clearances lol. But are those MOS' you listed above all qualified to do a lat change to 0861? or the MOS' that are accepted to be Fire Support Men in the Corps?

Are ya sure? I thought the GT score was comprised of Arthmetic Reasoning, Work Knowlegde and Paragraph Comprehension?

Never heard of a 169. Only takes a GT of 110 to become an officer. Have your recruiter verify your scores.

I will I just dont know how its actually scored but thats what I thought it was, I calculated it wrong, I thought it was all three added up, because thats what the Army website I looked at a while back said lol, when I get home ill look at my scores and caculate them the right way. Thanks

    1. The MOS 0861 is the only 08 Series MOS that can have the MOS 8023/Parachutist with it. So if you don't get selected by the Marine Corps to be a 0861, then you won't have the option to be in ANGLICO.

    2. MOS 8023, Parachutist: The MOS's listed in the parentheses are the MOS's that can train to be a parachutist if your duty position requires the training. There are 9 communication MOS's in the list; I have not researched if they are all entry-level MOS's.

    3. If you are calculating your scores, you did not take the ASVAB or you don't have access to the proper shred out with the GT and other scores . What was your AFQT?

I honestly don't know if this is the proper sheet or not but this is the one I received. My AFQT score was a 57. I know it's not amazing but this was my first time taking it. I can't upload my sheet since I don't have enough credits so I'll list off my scores in each field.

    General Science: 55
    Arithmetic Reasoning: 56
    Work Knowledge: 59
    Paragraph Comprehension: 54
    Mathematics Knowlegde: 59
    Electronics Information: 51
    Auto & Shop Informantion: 38
    Mechanical Comprehension: 52
    AFQT: 57

I do not know what an AFQT will equate to in GT Score, but you are a Category IIIA with an AFQT of 57. As long as your GT Score is a 105, then you have a chance for MOS 0861. You still would have to make it through the physical exam.

Your recruiter will have a readout with the GT listed as a specific number on it (since certain MOS's require a minimum GT score).
